that’s great for the them
Gamerpass sucks. I was playing a game and then 2 months later it wasn’t part of it. I couldn’t finish the game.

Games didn’t look impressive. PS5 fo sho.

That’s my only issue with all these streaming services. They remove stuff and you don’t know when. even if I did know when I don’t want to be on a timer to finish a game or tv show.

That's what a "Console Exclusive" is.

Again, the number of gamers who own both a gaming-class PC and a console are a tiny niche. Every game that isn't on the PS5 is an effective exclusive to the Xbox for the overwhelming majority of prospective console buyers. The PS5 doesn't get to claim the PC library as its own. The cheapest method to get these games on the other side of that wall, ironically, would be for a PS5 owner to buy an XSX.

Game Pass is hands down the best service in gaming. You could have just bought that game (for 20% off via the Xbox store price if you liked) and continued playing your save state. Then unsubscribed if that was the only game you cared about. PS Now any every other service that maintains a rotating library will sometimes do this.

Game Pass is a first party service. How does Netflix make money for movie studios when people aren't buying Blu-Rays?

Subscriptions, subscriptions, subscriptions.

That’s why it sucks. I want to play the game and at my pace. Point of the service is convenience and peace of mind.

If you like it, more power to you.

loads of those game’s said console launch exclusive, that’s basically only kept off PS5 for a short period.

Neither are showing the games on their native hardware.

Ratchet & Clank was confirmed to be captured in real time running on a PS5 from Insomniac.

Where as MS has came out and said Halo was on a PC.

The weaker console is upstaging the worlds most powerful one at this point, advantage PS5 at this stage.

None of the games they showed are xbox exclusive. They may be timed exclusives for a year or so, but nothing is xbox only.

I'm probably alone with this opinion but I HATE GAMEPASS.

I get that its great on Xbox, but it absolutely sucks on PC. Windows 10 Store is the worst piece of shit software ever created by man, and you also get a lot less games than on Xbox.

Doesnt matter though since its just an option and you can ignore it and buy the game, right? Well, not really when Microsoft puts a game like Gears Tactics that should be $30-$40 on Steam for freaking $70 because they want your Gamepass subscription so badly...

Event was pretty boring as expected. Weird how everyone though the next generation would start off with some amazing lineup of games. Has it ever?

I THINK it's an update. You can play it on PC also and your progress crosses over.
So apparently the people in charge of PSO2s social media are also clueless. The youtbe page says it is a massive update, but their twitter page says that it is an entirely new game. The website though says massive update, so I am going with that. But while they say it is an update character growth is not shared between the two games. Weapons can be used between the games, but they have different functionality between the two.

So I give up. It is a new game.

It looks a lot better than the base PSO2 though. I am pretty excited for it, even with the lackluster base game.

That's what a "Time Exclusive" is, but I don't know where you got the idea that every game shown yesterday will be released in a year on other platforms. That information isn't in that article, and 343 Industries has already stated, for example, there is no plans to ever bring Halo to the PS5.

I don't think it really matters. Microsoft isn't packing the punch with games to win back the market dominance they lost.

I thought I had a handle on it but after reading the (impeccable I must add) logic you laid down, now I'm like...

So, thanks for that! :)

It looks like big improvement. That is what matters!

It seems like Game Pass has two trains of thought. One being a place to put older games, or games from smaller studios to stay relevant, and games out up there for a couple of months as a teaser, so play a bit and buy it when it goes.

3 AAA RPG's in the works for Xbox..

Fable (Playground Games), Avowed (Obsidian), and a new IP from InXile likely to be announced later in the year..

Step in the right direction.

They used to come out swinging back in the 16-32 bit days, and get them unit movers out there as quickly as possible. Hasn't been the case for a while. Most systems come in like a lamb now. Nintendo still lives by the mantra of big launch lineups though. They've usually got one or two of their heavies ready to go at launch. However, I also find Nintendo to really only care about year one, as after that initial wave of great games, they usually fall right the fuck off, albeit while still selling systems. I couldn't even tell you about a significant Switch game that has come out since that first year. They've got good media selling it though. The Switch critics will cream their pants at any old indie port.

It seems self-explanatory. Yesterday's games reveal event isn't going to convert Playstation gamers. They've bought up all these studios, but they still haven't built a strong enough reservoir of IP to get the world that excited for the Xbox. Right now the console's strongest selling points are game services and policies. I'm sure they're keen to win the price war.

Games Games Games.
That’s what’s going to win this generation and Xbox is starting considerably behind the curve.

The rest is just fluff.

Historically the price point has been the most important single aspect to winning the console launch war.

Always a good first impression to leave your audience unimpressed and confused.

I’ll never understand how a company with as many resources as Microsoft can’t get basics right when it comes to their software and presentations. They’re doing a lot right but it’s all being undermined by a poor message delivery.

Thank you for clarifying.
