And Kuzema's from another angle with intros

Thanks for the vk.com video. I've looked on there before but didn't find it. I kept running into other things.

I've seen that other Kuzema video. YouTube has it as well. Good to see it though.

Been looking for a YouTube version of this event.

Oplot's All Women's MMA card from 2013

To be honest, I was hoping Alyona would get the win here, didn't realize how much bigger Katja was until i saw the vid.

Good for Katja though and yes, having seen that I really hope Alyona tries her hand at atomweight, looks as though she'd be far better suited to that class

Yep. Agreed.

@judoka27: NIce find! I can see this vid popping up if Alexis ever makes it far enough to challenge Ronda. I bet she has not forgotten being flipped like a cheese omelet by Ronda.

Interesting to see an all female oplot event

Looks as though in that Alyona was listed at a shade over 5'1" and 112 pounds.

The atoms are calling methinks Lol

This is not 100% confirmed but rumor has it that the girl fighting Ronda Rousey in the video below is Alexis Dufresne(!)

[YT]hGIb9j_NTOw[/YT]

You can clearly see that it's Dufresne. Remember seeing it some time ago, didn't remember it was her though. Question is, how much has Dufresne improved? It was more than 3 years ago, after all.

Yep. 8)

I'd found some of those fights, from that event, as separate clips and the whole of it at a different video site but had not found it on YouTube. That was a while ago though, last year some time and I hadn't looked for it recently. It is nice to actually be able to post it rather then just link it.

I'd seen that a while ago myself. Here is a list of Dufresne's major accomplishments from 2010 in grappling/bjj.

2010 – IBJJF American National Championships, Blue Belt Medium-Heavy (Gold)
2010 – IBJJF World Championships, Blue Belt Heavy (Bronze)
2010 – IBJJF Pan Ams, White Belt Heavy (Gold)

That video is from October 2010.

Yes, it was. Scroll past that post a little more and Tridpres laid it all out.

Great news. Thanks. More information on all of these and other fighters would be very welcome.

I don't know if you will come back and check this out but I wanted to ask a question and see if you can help get to the bottom of an answer.

I was looking for Crisano's fight against Zambonini to see what happened in it and to learn the result of it. I was surprised to find out how it ended, with the referee called a DQ on Crisano for no real reason. I posted the video and made some comments in different places.

I also saw several different "official" results for that fight from a Decision win to a TKO reported. Eventually I heard it was a No Contest but when I double check Crisano's and Zambonini's fight finder pages I see Zambonini listed as winning the fight by DQ on both Sherdog's and Tapology's sites.

I know that Crisano's camp said that the DQ had been overturned by the promotion so I was hoping to get all of the above cleared up one way or another. Perhaps in talking to Crisano you can help get this business squared away. I know that Wombat Sports currently has that fight listed as No Contest and they were in communication with Crisano's camp over this topic and they also wrote up a brief article on it.

Whatever is the case I would like to hear the real official word on what has become of this fight.

Thanks.

To be perfectly honest, her assistant had no service the whole time out there, so I missed a lot of answers to questions; what I DID gather when I asked about her two back-to-back fights in such a short period, was her current record stands at a 2-1-1, which would place that last fight at a NC.

http://www.knockoutlounge.com/cassie-crisano -- if you wish to share it with your latest posts.

Another side note; Shannon Sinn should be completed today. :):icon_twis

Thanks for the news and the share. I'm looking forward to reading what Sinn has been up to.

I figured Crisano's record would be at 2-1-0, 1NC and have it listed that way on my own records keeping but I would like to see Tapology and Sherdog have the correct listing so that people looking up her records have access to correct information.

Tapology is actually missing one of her fights.

Outside Da Cage: Tecia Torres
By Sam Wilson | April 1, 2014 at 10:10 pm | No comments | Outside Da Cage

With a recent win over Felice Herrig in Invicta Fighting Championships, and now a member of the TUF 20 house, Sam Wilson spends a few moments with Tecia Torres to learn about who she is, Outside Da Cage.

10156973_10100961740256728_1960005632_n.jpg

Sam Wilson: Everyone knows you as the Tiny Tornado, quick fast destructive and leave a path of destruction. I have seen photo of you being quite girly growing up. Tell me about "Growing up Tecia". (ie where you were born, siblings, school)

Tecia Torres: I was born in Fall River, Massachusetts. I have 2 younger brothers and an older sister. We came to Florida when I was in elementary school. I'd go visit my dad up north every summer. Never really liked Mass, I've always favored the Florida lifestyle. I was always a great student, the teacher's pet. My discipline in school came from starting martial arts at the very young age of 5.

Meet Professional MMA Fighter, Shannon Sinn

Alright, Shannon Sinn is a new name to me. I suppose there's a lot of uncovered talent from being your typical MMA fan. On my search to find and connect with more and more fighters, especially those in the ever-growing WMMA community, I came across Shannon Sinn. Not only does she have the coolest freakin' eyes in MMA, ever... she also carries quite an impressive record of 5-1 as an Ammy and 1-0 as a Professional. Shannon Sinn is surely a name that will be blowing up in the near future, so keep your eyes peeled and watch for this Fighter on the Rise!

Interesting about Alexis' grappling accomplishments, wasn't too sure about her background as I recently read (quickly) an article where she was talking about looking forward to punching girls in the face in the UFC Lol

She is pretty well skilled all around but it is her grappling background that is the most documented and acts as a proof of capabilities to a degree. Her striking is pretty much seen in MMA against fighters with weak records or debuting so it doesn't establish much other then that she can finish a fight with her fists and she likes doing it.

Here is some information on her grappling as of 2013 from her awakeningfighters profile.

2013 – IBJJF World No Gi Championships, Brown Belt Medium-Heavy (Gold)
2013 – IBJJF World Championships, Purple Belt Medium-Heavy (Gold)
2013 – IBJJF Pan Ams, Purple Belt Medium-Heavy (Gold)
2012 – IBJJF Pan Ams, Purple Belt Medium-Heavy (Gold)
2011 – IBJJF World No Gi Championships, Purple Belt Absolute (Silver)
2011 – IBJJF World No Gi Championships, Purple Belt Medium-Heavy (Gold)
2011 – IBJJF American National Championships, Blue Belt Medium-Heavy (Gold)
2011 – IBJJF American National No Gi Championships, Blue Belt Absolute (Gold)
2011 – IBJJF American National No Gi Championships, Blue Belt Medium-Heavy (Gold)
2011 – IBJJF World Championships, Blue Belt Medium-Heavy (Gold)
2011 – IBBJF Pan Ams, Blue Belt Absolute (Gold)
2011 – IBBJF Pan Ams, Blue Belt Medium-Heavy (Silver)
2010 – IBJJF American National Championships, Blue Belt Medium-Heavy (Gold)
2010 – IBJJF World Championships, Blue Belt Heavy (Bronze)
2010 – IBJJF Pan Ams, White Belt Heavy (Gold)

I posted a link the "punches in the face" article five or so days ago but here it goes again:

http://www.mmamania.com/2014/5/17/5...-not-go-to-jail-tuf-19-finale-sarah-moras-mma

No led in as I've previously done that and recently at that so no need but for people having missed it the link here is handy for them to check out.

Re Charmaine;

Pretty sure that her and Veronica Rothenhausler were doing some cyber battling a while ago, talking about having a fight at 155

I'd love to see that

Here's hoping

Same here. I'm looking forward to seeing what the big ladies can do when they don't have to cut so much weight.

You're welcome on Mcleod vs. Anderson. Fun fight. Agreed.

The Unified Women’s Professional MMA Rankings gave it their fight of the week award. 8)

Now that's a whole heap of grappling credentials

RE Charmaine and Veronica

I'm pretty sure Veronica missed an appearance in one of the recent Invictas as a result of going through a bad cut and having to take a trip to the hospital

NOT GOOD

Pretty sure I recall reading an interview with her some time ago where she stated that she walks around at close to 170 !

So, yes, I also would like to see how some of these bigger ladies can go without having to cut so much

Yep. Lots of medals.

Yeah. Veronica Rothenhausler passed out for her last Invicta appearance. Terrible situation. She is big.

It'll be fun seeing what happens without the big weight cuts. I'm looking forward to fun fights.

I'll post it in a moment.

She was a beast back in the days ...

There was talk about her making a comeback this year or late last year, starting with a bout against Maria Hougaard Djursaa, the only person to defeat her. (I should mention that Kunitskaya took time off due to being pregnant.)

They were looking toward Invicta to give them a venue for that fight.

I think Kunitskaya ended up getting an injury and I haven't heard anything since then.

It was last year now that I double checked a few things.

I mentioned it a while back and I know that there is more then what I wrote on this link to an older version of this thread.
