Pudding looked good. My fears were unfounded.

(a big part of why she looked good was Wu looking terribad and Yan Xiaonanesque on the ground, of course; at least Wu has got a lot more kawaii in her time in the UFC, if not that much better at fighting).
She really should have got a submission but when it was clear she didn't know how it at least it flipped a switch that made her mad and she went all Ol' Pudding on her with elbows instead.

Also, kinda funny that ended up being one of the better fights on the main card IMO (and the fight it got bumped up over as well). Not saying it made sense to be on the main card from a 'big name' or competitive standpoint given neither of them had won in the UFC since 2018, but I'm sure the marketing bean counters are very good at their jobs and there's a good rea$on they'll say 'put a woman, any woman' up high on the main card of a PPV (I would have thought Maverick woulld have made more sense as first choice for that, but hey).

Bellator had done that a ton of times. Wasn’t too long ago Worldwide had an ongoing thread about huge prospect signings.

Also is just a bigger company, they 700 fighters on the roster, put on 50 something cards a year. UFC will always end up signing more guys because of this

How many does Bellator do? Half that…maybe. How many spots they have on their roster?

Agree that UFC has a monopoly on elite fighters but the market for prospects is pretty competitive

Glad to see pudding took care of business in this easy reintroduction to the UFC. Wouldn't mind seeing her given a bit more respectable opponent next.

Sad maverick was robbed of her own take care of business fight to get on a win streak.

If Ailin doesn’t beat Fairn I’d be a bit disappointed. She’s billed as having a Sanda background but shes been imposing a wrestling game on most of her MMA opponents. She’s an excellent athlete, but she’s been feasting on cans & her only real fight against Tamires Vidal was frustrating because she was winning it, but couldn’t keep her strikes tight enough not to foul her way into a DQ.

Zarah is still probably the 2nd best fighter she’s faced however, & certainly has the best kickboxing she’s ever faced. She’s also the first opponent she’s fighting who will have a reach advantage over her, so it could get messy out there. I don’t expect Zarah to win, but it could be closer than it should be.

Viktoriya Dudakova (the aforementioned DWCS fighter) Adriana Vukovic & Sabrina DeSousa are the most Pico esque prospects I can think of.

So Elle Wagman still isn’t stepping up to face someone with a winning record yet in her 6th fight, but this is a very respectable opponent, nonetheless.

Atomweight Championship Bout Headlines Invicta FC’s Return to Oklahoma on Sept. 28
KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Invicta Fighting Championships is returning to Oklahoma on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

The event — which takes place from the Sugar Creek Casino in Hinton — will be headlined by atomweight champion Jéssica Delboni (12-3), who makes the first defense of her 105-pound title against “Lionheart” Jillian DeCoursey (5-3). The Brazilian Delboni added to her championship collection in January, capitalizing on her Phoenix Tournament victory to dethrone then-champion Alesha Zappitella in dominant fashion at Invicta FC 45. New York’s DeCoursey emphatically made her case for a title shot with a highlight-reel, 61-second knockout of Lindsey VanZandt at Invicta FC 47.

In the night’s co-main event, Oklahoma’s own Kristina “Warhorse” Williams (6-3) looks to continue her ascension up the flyweight ranks when she meets newcomer Ketlen “Esquentadinha” Souza (11-3) of Brazil. Williams rides the momentum of three straight victories, including two straight in the Invicta cage. Souza also carries a three-fight winning streak into the match-up and has secured eight of her 11 career wins via knockout.
