Does Dana White still give bonuses for getting certain fighters out of the cage really fast
because the reason I ask is Gillian Robertson who actually is decent looking despite the
dye job with her hair is being forced to fight a heavily tattooed troll who can scare the paint
off of the cars in the parking lot and burn the retinas of the people in attendance.

We don't know the full compensation package for fighters. We do know that the vast majority of the card fillers get paid jack and shit. Some of the minor draws get far more then what's advertised, according to Joanna, and we know very roughly that at the very top they get paid multiple millions and the UFC listed the fighters it thinks are overpaid considering what they say the market is which is hilarious cause Conor is on that list. They actually think they are overpaying Conor.

So no the card fillers get jack and shit beyond the pitiful number of bonuses the UFC publicly announces.

If pay was public then you would have a far more reasonable distribution of pay across the board but the UFC would have to likely double what it pays the fighters right now (20%).

I'm not sure what your post means although it sounds quite interesting? Are you suggesting that the UFC will pay Robertson a special bonus for an early win to get Frota away from the cameras as soon as possible?

It doesn't sound likely as they recently signed Frota knowing what she looked like. Then she came in 7 pounds over weight in her debut, which she lost. That would have been the perfect time to can her if they had second thoughts. Maybe you mean they'll pay Frota a bonus to get rid of Gillian, although that sounds less likely?

WMMAddict is speculating that this fight is upcoming (based on several factors).

My thoughts on the fights: fundamentals matter.

Maia was fast in fighting for and getting the better grip positions in the clinches against Roxy and she kept a wide base to keep from getting dragged to the ground. When Roxy tried to throw her she'd step around to take away the fulcrum & leverage so she wouldn't get flipped on her back, then used the whizzer to stand right back up. Nice basic anti-grappling stuff, but it works quite well. Deny the takedowns and Roxy's chances of winning drop hugely.

Then we have Pennington's basic striking along with her defence & composure. Aldana's running around all over the place throwing all kinds of stuff but she's not really setting anything up. Active, but not really effective. Pennington used some head movement, move a half step, or blocked and then countered with good clean punches & kicks of her own. Much more economical movement, nothing fancy, but it worked. Raquel had a speed & reach disadvantage against Aldana but her better fundamentals won her the fight.

Dear @Rox22 ,

Please see the tendency: your opponents cheat against you.
You and us fans, we all know that last pounds of a weight cut can turn into nightmare and can be the difference in a fight itself between healthy, composed fighter and a drained zombie.
I'm sure Maia overpowered you, because she refused to cut the last pounds while you stayed classy and professional even in a weight cut.
And now everyone only sees that you're 0-2 against Maia, while it absolutely doesn't tell the whole story.

Do us all fans a favor and next time come in 129 lbs as well!
UFC will not punish you, because UFC doesn't care. Even so they take your 20% purse - you'll get 200% after a win!
Don't drain yourself for the stupid system that will not back you up in case you have health issues!

I do believe you could've beat both Maia and the rapist's apprentice if you weighed as much as them

I keep saying it but Aldana has all the tools to do so much better if she'd just think about putting them together to win rounds as a MMA fighter instead of a Messican boxer doing MMA. Her subs of Betch and Schneider were great but they were opportunistic coming as a result of her boxing. Likewise her opportunistic sub attempt on Pennington in rd3 was pretty groovy but when it became clear it wasn't going to work, she had many chances to get out or even take the back and maybe seal the round & fight but didn't seem to think about advancing the position strategically to score points. Maybe it's a side effect of not starting sport till her early 20s (I was surprised Pennington was 1 year younger than Aldana), had she been doing stuff since teens maybe she'd have better 'flow'. Perhaps Grasso is closer to being there but too bad we won't be able to tell as next fight she's facing The Great One™ ;)

I actually thought that was Aldana's best UFC performance, she seemed more comfortable/confident trading and I had her winning 2-1 but it was clearly gonna be very close on the scorecards. & as some pointed out, it's good she lost anyway as her best performance being a split loss to Rocky only shows she's miles away from the Nuneses and the GDRs of the division, and I don't want a vegetable for a waifu.

Matchmaker roleplay time!

Pennington vs Ladd or Pena: any of these 3 fighting the other would be fun IMO.

Aldana vs Lansberg: This would be great, especially on a UK card (wink, nudge).

Maia vs winner of Shev/Carmouche or Calderwood/Lee.

Roxy vs Davis: I think this would be a good and appropriate fight for both (I can already here the commentators saying 'two veterans squaring off...') regardless of who wins Davis vs Vugar Orujov (that's just what I call her OK). Someone who will be willing to grapple with teh Rox rather than stymie all fight long.

The Covington/Lawler card, is the closest to two weeks. So she's probably fighting Antonina, Pudilova, Borella, or Murphy?

Loma Lookboonmee is fighting Swedish fighter Jessica Pettersson Wednesday. With 18 fighters competing her division (48kg) has the biggest field this year.

Is she any good? What's her style, any of those 4 seem like a tough 1st ask (unless she's a strong grappler v Shevchenko).

Blonde ............... no, from what I can see she's a kickboxer with a thing for standing guillotine.
Granger’s primary skill set at 115 was being huge and a good athlete. She’s pretty good at catching quick submissions, as well.

Her punches seemed slow at 115, but maybe a move up will help that. I don’t think she beats any of those 4 tho, maybe she could catch Antonina or Lucie, but I doubt it.

What it looks like with Miranda Granger is she is another Polina Botelho type fighter where
her biggest asset is size and is a dangerous fighter if her size advantage is correctly utilized.

What a strange fight. I'm super in.

So Hamderlei will beat a can in July
Ayaka will smother some poor MT chick in August.

December - Ayaka vs Hamderlei 3 to find out who's the best atomweight in the world? (what a crappy division)

Cant see her fighting Murphy (too much experience) or Lucie as both are among the bigger girls in the division having made the drop.

More likely fighting Antonina or Borella

But, if I had to guess on 1 of the 4 dropping out it would be Borella (dunno why, just hunch), which would put her against Lauren.

So I dunno..

stalking the instagrams..

Lucie posted yesterday that she is ready to fight in 13 days.

Mara mostly posting adverts for stuff or random feel good quotes, nothing about the fight. Last post that was actually abuot the fight and not some inspirational quote or sponsor advert was a week ago.

Antonina posted last about the fight 3 days ago

Lauren last posted about the fight 5 days ago, but posted yesterday saying she had good training

So based on that its either Mara or Antonina that are out..

I don't think it's Antonina. Val has her training 19 hours ago (and then going to shooting training together right after):

Perhaps New Jersey intend honoring that 26 year suspension the Italian's handed out? Hope not though.
