I like the Greek lady as well and I'm pretty sure Smith is going to give the colleen a pasting. The rest of the card, well who knows how the chemistry will work out?

I tipped Van Buren to win the Invicta tournament the day it was announced, so I'm not going to bail on her now. Unless Pena has been training in secret Nicco is going to shock the world and GDR will surely solidify her position as one of Sherdog's most hated by taking out the wolf girl.

Anyone pick up the UFC signing Karol Rosa? She was contacted to step in for the Bernardo fight after Gatto pulled out but the short notice weight cut was too much and so Araujo got the call instead. Now she's signed and expected to debut in China. https://www.sherdog.com/news/news/K...t-Expected-to-Debut-in-China-on-Aug-31-156871

UFC have picked up some big prospects from Brazil recently: Rosa, Carnelossi, (potentially) Nunes etc.

Goddamnit! Managed to come home from work in time just for Lee/Nicolini. That was a damn amazing fight, great grapplystuff and very, very entertaining and was very cool that the audience went bananas for the groundgame too - unlike often in UFC... Yay!

Oh, post #1000 :) Thanks you lot here (I think about 90% of my posts are in these threades) making Sherdog worth visiting.

Now off for beers! No time for whatever the main-event is.

The Asian crowds tend to be much more appreciative of grappling than US crowds.

oh man. painful to see Aspen Ladd step onto the scale today. cramping and in pain, severly dehydrated. same when she fought Evinger. makes u think how much longer she can sustain that

She needs to either reduce her walk around weight or start dieting earlier. While there are no studies under these conditions (will not pass an ethics board) women do not tolerate cuts as well as men and maintain their health. There hormonal profile takes more long-term damage.

Well after seeing Ladd weighin and waiting on Julianna, alI I can think is Nicco v GDR will be a heck of a Fight tomorrow night

Ok Pena looking good at 135.5 ...... her kid didn't weighin but looked about 23 pounds.

yeah, she doesn't have the ideal frame to begin with, kinda short and stocky, weight won't come off as easy. and having a female hormonal system doesn't help

How is it the heaviest Bantamweights not named Aspen Ladd cut 25-30 pounds like clock work
but Aspen Ladd always looks horrible and almost every time is in the nude.

I honestly think cutting weight is at least partly due to natural attributes, sorta like fast twitch muscle fibers. No matter how much I trained, I would never have been able to become even a halfway decent sprinter, I just don't have any natural talent in that direction. In the same fashion, I think some peoples' bodies are just naturally better disposed toward cutting.
Keep in mind, I am speaking with exactly zero personal experience in weight cutting, so my theory should probably be taken with an entire shaker of salt.

I was NOT a fan of the ONE judging today.
I thought that
BOTH Bi Nguyen and Angela Lee got screwed by the judging.

I totally forgot that Brianna Van Buren was on this card. Am I the only one who has noticed an uptick in scheduled WMMA fights this year?

no I made big post about it back in like Feb, Welcome to the ESPN ERA.

I thought hat
Bi edged it, but not by enough to complain about it the way she has on social media, and I agreed with giving Nicolini the win. Lee’s damage in spurts wasn’t enough to outweigh Nicolini controlling 80%+ of the fight

I saw those fights totally different. I thought Bi clearly landed more in her fight. I also thought Angela clearly won rounds 1 and 3 and didn't see Nicolini in control for 80% of the fight at all. Thought it would be an easy 29-28 under the round by round scoring system. Oh well, this is why I'm glad to be a fan and not a judge. I can just enjoy the fights!

ONE doesn’t score round-by-round.
