She better get it in writing. Notarized, as well.
It really is worthless. At this point one of them could get an impressive performance/finish and get moved down the rankings.

That said if they pulled that with Joanna she could just have a public spat, walk and release her biography with a tell-all chapter in English. Would probably make more than the rest of her career purse combined.

You're severly overrating JJ's popularity as well as how much people care about a "wronged" champion, justified or not.

It was enough to get her original fight date back vs Valentina when the community almost unanimously shat on Dana and the UFC for trying to move it to MSG vs the girl with the big mouth who proceeded to not make weight.

Honestly even I was surprised.

Never under estimate people's collective outrage good or bad. Can't bank on it either that's true but still. There is now precedent and Joanna has been super good to everyone. Losing hasn't seemed to diminish her value as much as I and some others thought it would.

The fighter that didn't make weight at Madison Square Garden was Sijara Eubanks but what
was funny was she returned to Bantamweight and made championship weight without disrobing
completely like she was doing at Flyweight.

Tonights predictions:
Nunes via Dec.
Claudia via Dec.

I think Holm can avoid Amanda for most of the fight and prolong it. Her footwork, timing and distance control are inferior to Shevchenko who did this successfully against Nunes and still lost, but Holly is much larger and Amanda has to avoid both the LHK and getting worn down in the clinch verus Holly. I am not all that impressed with Holly's clinch work, and do not know how Amanda's gas tank will hold up if she is pushed (unlike her fight vs. Shevchenk). Nunes did well enough in the later rounds vs. Pennington but practically took one of her legs off early on.

At this time last year I would be 100% confident in Claudia, but following both the general degeneration of her skills and game-planning and her knee surgery, no more. She did train at a another camp this time, so hopefully that will help.

I'll take
Nunes
Claudia
Avila

I was tempted to go with Randa over Claudia but ultimately I don't think Randa is 'solid' enough mentally to beat Claudia, faded or not... she tends to get hot-headed and make dumb mistakes. Also Claudia trained somewhere new which suggests she's taking things a bit more srs.

I'd like Holm to win but I think she is too old and stuff.

Avila has a full camp and hits hard and brings psycho levels of aggro into the cage, Kianzad is on short notice and might fold if she tastes too much Panda power.
Plus Avila has a win over the true undefeated 125 champ, Montaño, so she must be really really really good.

Avila also has the best nickname of all the women fighting tonight.

I got a question that may sound morbid but it is appropriate considering previous history
has anyone heard if Julia Avilla had to go to the hospital for some scrambled body part
after her fight with Pannie Kianzad since she had two surgeries after two previous fights
with Invicta.

Randa can put on a good fight if she has a deep rooted grudge against her opponent (which fortunately for her is quite a lot of ppl), but vs anyone else she just flakes out all the time and shits the bed.

Then she gets a fire lit under her ass because she lost her last fight and tries a bit harder in her next, wins, then flakes again, rinse, repeat x infinity

And H.I. sleeps on a pillow soaked with tears.

Just think about how aspen Ladd is one win away from facing nunes...that’s scary.

If you look at the 135 pound division, it’s not even that you can’t find someone who could beat her, but it’s hard to find someone who even seems as if they could go 5 rounds with her.

Good lord, almost makes me want Ladd to beat GDR

I’m assuming no one here knows ketlen vieira’s status, right?

Talk about bad habits. Bailing on a sidekick then standing around on one leg with the hands down is just asking for trouble. Shevchenko whacked Holly with low kicks when she did that but Nunes had the reach to kick her head off. Fight went about as I expected, slow start, then Nunes started pressuring a bit and bam, game over.

Edit: Further thoughts. Claudia is known to have a pretty poor gas tank, so you'd think the plan would be to push the pace early & force grappling exchanges even if it means giving away the first round. Instead, Randa decides to have a staring contest and let Claudia slow the pace to a crawl. I don't know what to say or if there's anything to learn from this fight, it was just bizarre.

Panda vs. Pannie was entertaining. Kinda sloppy with questionable choices rather than the more calculated performances that we're getting used to at the top of the divisions these days. Pannie seems to have reached her ceiling so we'll see where Panda goes from here.

Overall, fun night of fights, and next week should be pretty fun & interesting as well.

Amanda Nunes is the GOAT and its not even close. This includes Cyborg(For the crazy Cyborg fans), Ronda(For the Ronda fans) and Megumi( For the JWMMA fans). Amanda is not my favorite fighter but if people are still not calling her without a doubt the absolute best WMMA fighter ever you are just bias. No matter how boring Valentina vs Nunes was, those fights shows me just how good Valentina is. To be that undersized and be the only one to put up a decent fight vs this new Amanda is simply amazing.

Amanda Nunes being the Goat again, respect Holly she tried some things to make it a fight.
Panda looked great can't wait to see them up her compitition, Pannie also not terrible but that cowering into the fence after shots killed her. Hopefully Pannie gets another chance love to see the ufc let her style on Bernardo or Mazany.

Markos is the most frustrating fighter to cheer for after every good win, she follows it up with garbage like this same as her Grasso or Nina fights she showed no will to win, Claudia was smart to choose her out of all the women who wanted her but she's not going anywhere either with more performances like that. Atleast her post fight interview wasn't "don't boo carla"

100% agreed on everything here. Can't see anyone sane disagreeing with raising Nunes to the all time top spot with what she had developed into, and CV-wise she really has done it all now, with absolute murderous brutality...

And in retrospect, Valentina's fights with Nunes really tell quite a tale of her status too. They age like wine, really, the more Nunes murders other girls :)
