Multiplat Official Witcher 4 Discussion (2027)

If you're looking for a build to make Death March easy, I highly endorce this video.

At the very start of the game you can only cast a sign every 10 seconds.
So with this build I knew the real test would be the bosses in Heart of Stone, which at best take me a few 3 to 5 attempts, and at worst many more than that.

Frog Prince - Beat him on my 1st attempt.
Ofering Mage - Beat him on my 1st attempt.
Gravedigger - Beat him on my 1st attempt.
Spirit in the paintings - Beat him on my 1st attempt.
Worst Nightmare - Beat him on my 2nd attempt.

All on Death March difficulty.
No question that build is the most effective in the game, and it doesn't even use potions or concoctions for anything else but healing.

Damn, it's as I feared. I must've deleted my save data at some point thinking I'd never play Witcher 3 again. Came across the same issue attempting to play Red Dead 2 last year. I'll have to be more mindful when making space in the future.

I have a 400h savefile I couldn’t get the 2022 upgraded game to recognise last year so I wouldn’t assume it’s 100 you unless you remember explicitly going into saved data (not application data) and deleting, which is not normal practice.

I recall doing a deep clean to make space in the last couple of years, so unfortunately I did delete the save data, but I took a second look in case you were right. Were you ever able to get your old save file recognized? Normally I wouldn't touch save data but in the Witcher's case I really expected to never play it again. Alas, I can always watch the youtube video GSM posted to see what the new quest is all about. You say going into saved data to delete files isn't normal practice, but some of these suckers are several hundred megabytes big! Without an external harddrive every bit counts lol.

At the very start of the game you can only cast a sign every 10 seconds.

With this build, you'll be able to blast Igni, use Quen & Yrden each twice, and takes a second and a half for your meter to build back up to use them again.

Perfect offense - Igni.
Perfect defense - Quen.
Perfect offense & defense - Yrden.

Basically makes the vast majority of all combat encounters a joke.

Would like to update this by saying every single time I've played through NewGame+ I've had to abandon my GrandMaster Armor quickly because the scaling of the Lvl50+ enemies were quite tough, both offensively and defensively.

But with this build, I played through the entirety Velen & Skellege quite easy. Only as I'm beginning Novigrad have I upgraded my swords.

By the way, the Heart Of Stone nunesmith?
On previous playthroughs I had major difficulty getting one ingredient he needed.... the jade in the cave full of spiders... to the point I lowered the difficulty to easy. This build makes that all too easy now, even at a very low level for that quest on DeathMarch difficulty.

So if you've played through Witcher3 before and want to try it on the hardest difficulty, that build is without question the best.

Well well well...

They won't admit it, and at the most would imply it was the angles, lighting, and expressions, but there's no question Ciri is now looking significantly closer to how she was in Witcher3.

Is it that much better than combat + alchemy build? Haven't played in a while but I think the build I used deep into ng+ was heavy combat and alchemy with the mutation that gives you a huge damage buff based on your toxicity level. Then manticore set, Aerondale or whatever it was and the Toussaint knights sword. Never messed with a sign build.

Damage was super high on death march, pop 3 flasks and then do absurd damage with every hit.

Hearts of stone was better than blood and wine

Come at me

Also thinking now letho would have made great new main character

The more times you play HoS the more you realize this isn't close to true.
HoS has an amazing narrative with one of the GOAT antagonists though.

Honestly i found characters in b&w not as interesting

Regis is cool, detclaff you almost never interact with and the high born lady is so boring i cant remember her name.

Hearts of stone has olgierd whos one of best side characters in game, gaunter and shani of course

Gameplay and quest design wise B&W is probably better but i still prefer HOS lol

That's fair.

It's too bad you couldn't get Shani to come to the winery in the end.

*Sigh*
I don't feel like debating this now.
I will say in HoS you're given one real choice in the entire narrative... to take O'Dimm's final riddle or let him take Olgierd's soul, and that's just in the final five minutes of the entire narrative.
Thats it.
With B&W there's two completely different finale with... 4 different endings (could be wrong) depending on the choices Geralt makes.
And that doesn't include the awesome world of Toussaint and all of the awesome sidequests.

Oh, and did you know the entirety of HoS's narrative gives you less than half the XP required to level up once?

Aw shit, I said I didn't want to discuss it, and I just did anyway.

I've played through Witcher 3 eight times, and through HoS seven times. Trust me the more times you play through it the more of a slogg it becomes.
