Official War Room Awards 2018

This happens equally, if not more to conservatives though. We are at a stage that even mentioning that you support Trump = "you are a racist, sexist bigot". Wear a MAGA hat and it's a "symbol of hate". We are not talking small factions, as millions of people feel like this in America from your local store employee to your coworker to your social media friends. It's even more ridiculous towards conservatives than it is liberals, or equally ridiculous at best.

You can be fired for being a Trump fan.

For you? No, the 2nd Amendment is an actual policy conversation for you. You actually care about the issue and attempt to educate yourself on it beyond being opposed to those who want restrictions on it. Similarly, the MJ issue for you. You have reasons that are not based on identity.

And "identity politics" does dumb some things down. But it can be accurate as well. When NC Republicans try to restrict the voting rights of black Democrats in the state, it is identity politics for those black Democrats to vote against the GOP there. And when someone votes to keep the number of non-whites in the country to a minimum, that's identity politics too.

Agreed that the term is far more applicable in some instances than others. I've just noticed that it's rarely used as anything but an insult to diminish the voting choices of others. Next time I see it used productively in a conversation here might be the first. :D

I'm speaking beyond this tiny fraction of a population known as "The War Room", and more in general. It is as common as liberals to be called :eek::eek::eek:philes as it is for conservatives to be called racist. I don't know you personally not your circle, but post a picture of yourself on your social media wearing a MAGA hat. See how many people insult you. It's highly volitily on both sides, but I would argue more towards conservatives since they can be doing absolutely nothing more often and still get "accepted" hatred by the other side. It used to be in reverse a few years ago, but the Trump era has flipped things around.

If you're speaking exclusively on the forum I can't comment though.

What the hell are you talking about? lol

In my personal life, none of this happens at all. Nobody insults anybody based on their political opinions. I can't even remember the last heated political discussion I had in real life.

I do not participate in social media discussions about politics.

I'm talking specifically about the posters on this site. That was the topic from the start.

Well that's simply not true at all, and I have already corrected you on that, @MMAisGod must not have been following.

Like I said, on this forum (on a daily basis) liberals are accused of being racists, bigots, and :eek::eek::eek:philes. I already said that.

Well. I'd obviously need all these examples of posters being called racist or :eek::eek::eek:philes. You know, posters calling other posters that shit. Because the examples I gave are right in this very thread.

Just give me 2 examples of it happening today since you say it happens daily. So how bout a Nazi/racist and :eek::eek::eek:phile example. Since those are the 2 examples we have from 1 side in this thread in the last 2 or 3 hours

That's stupid. I didn't say he had a bad mouth. And he is engaging in protectionist policies in trade. He was very open about that being his goal. Maybe you don't like it when I call a duck a duck?

You didn't ask me if he's following the GOP. You asked me if he's governing like a Republican. I gave you an answer. You seem angry that I'm drawing a distinction between long-standing GOP policy and Trump-originated policy.

If you say so. I don't think he's knows anything about those subjects and is simply signing off on what the GOP is putting in front of him.

But that's not what you asked me. You asked me if Trump is governing like a Republican. Why are you changing the question?

See, this is why I generally don't engage you. You asked a question, I answered it and rather than respond to the specifics of my post, you've completely changed the question. It's disingenuous and I try not to feed into people who do that.

Don't ask me if I like cats and then complain that my answer doesn't discuss elephants.

So Trump is NOT governing like a Republican but is just going along with the Republican agenda minus Trade. Okie dokie

And it doesn't matter because he did not create the Republican agenda therefore he can't govern as a Republican.

You spin me round round

Oh, I use it productively here. I just infuse it with enough scorn that the reductive nature of the term isn't lost on the reader. When I say that those people are voting mostly on identity issues, I absolutely mean that, and I don't think it's a positive thing.

Let's try this Pan. As a proud Republican. Which of these changes under Trump do you support or oppose

1. Attempted repeal of the ACA

2. Corporate Tax cut

3. Individual tax cuts

4. Deregulation(lots of it)

5. Renegotiation/Replacement of NAFTA

6. Hard stance on China/ technology theft

7. Border wall

8. Continued oil/ energy exploration

9. Slashing of EPA budget

10. Federal defunding of PP

11. Shoving GOP stamped judges up our noses

12. Massive military spending increase

13. Prison/sentencing reform

14. What seems to be a hands off approach to states marijuana legalization

Here is the, "Liberals hate white people" narrative:

Shes not completely wrong.

I would just amend the comment to: Jewish liberals hate white people.

Here is the, "Liberals promote :eek::eek::eek:philia" narrative:

Yes :eek::eek::eek:philia is already here. And now it's in your face in the media. With the American left cheering this on camera.

Go into conversations where liberals defend James Gunn and see how many people call them :eek::eek::eek:philes. Not that I think he deserves defending, but jumping straight to :eek::eek::eek:phile accusations is extreme. It's one example, but I've seen it quite a few times in general. Comparative to the MAGA hat means racist, on a lesser scale.

It doesn't happen in mine either, and I don't talk politics on social media as well. I was specifically referring to reaction though. It's a spike the instant you show support toward the actual President of the country which I find insane.

If it's restricted to the forum only from the time I've seen I'd probably agree with you on average.

My guy, I can't agree that people call liberals :eek::eek::eek:'s as frequently as the right gets called racist. The right is called racist constantly. I don't see :eek::eek::eek: accusations thrown around all that often, on a grand scale. It's a really serious different type of accusation.

I was one of the Gunn defenders. As was Madmick if I remember correctly. That did not seem to go down party lines

The left are called racist on this forum every single day. They "hate white people" right? That's the narrative, and it's repeated all the time. Ann Coulter said it the other day and a thread was made about. Some people disagreed with her, and some jumped right on board with her.

We probably shouldn't just ignore something that happens every single day. I'm sure all of you notice.

When were those quotes. And what is the context? Because they don't seem to be speaking to other posters. And as for the Rip comment it's hard to even know what he's speaking of

Again. Since it happens daily. Do we have a couple of examples from today in regards to posters attacking other posters. We can bring up all kinds of those people comments. From both sides. But Logic saying Jewish liberals think this is not the same as NAC thinks this

When I say that those people are voting mostly on identity issues, I absolutely mean that, and I don't think it's a positive thing.

Can't imagine a time in history when people didn't primarily vote based on which groups they identify with.

Those were from 2 days ago, and yesterday. They are in active threads. They are the first two I thought of.

@LogicalInsanity was repeating the same thing he always says, which is that the left hates white people. The context was Ann Coulter saying that Jews hate white people. He said she's right, but only the liberal Jews (about 75% of Jewish people are liberal). It's not hard to understand.

@Ripskater was saying what he (and many other) always say, which is that the left promotes :eek::eek::eek:philia and that :eek::eek::eek:philia is up next up for social justice. He's been saying this for a long time, I'm sure you've noticed.

I think you guys should stop pretending not to notice things. It's not like anybody actually believes these things are going unnoticed.

I voted for Obama the first go around because of what I perceived his social and foreign policies would be. Even though I assumed financially I may not benefit

Sure, but like I said, they're also voting in a way that hurts themselves. If they were advancing the issues they claim to care about by voting on identity then it would make sense.

Jesus. I said Trump spent wastefully on military. Something Repukes should love

So the like dozen issues I posted mean you support Trump quite a bit, Right? Because you say you are a republican

Sorry my bad.

I'm no longer a Republican, changed my registration this summer.

I was skeptical of ACA when it was proposed but it turned out to be good legislation so I'm not happy with Republicans gutting it.

I was for lowering the corporate tax rate and simplifying the corporate code but they botched the simplification part. I wanted to make it revenue neutral by taxing passive income more.

They also watered down the EITC making it even more regressive.

I'm fine with Gorsuch and I was fine with Kavanaugh until he displayed his disgraceful temperament and partisanship during his hearings. He should not be on the supreme court after seeing that.

Fine with military spending.

Trump fucked up big by abandoning TPP and I don't like his maverick trade war and his attempts to weaken NATO.

I hate his attacks on the press and the courts.

I don't really care much about abortion one way or another.

Wait. So those examples are not of posters attacking other posters.

That's how this all started. You can't get carded unless it's a direct attack.

Are you saying you've never attacked the GOP or far right as a whole. That's entirely different than calling a poster a :eek::eek::eek:phile or nazi
