I'm no longer a Republican, changed my registration this summer.

I was skeptical of ACA when it was proposed but it turned out to be good legislation so I'm not happy with Republicans gutting it.

I was for lowering the corporate tax rate and simplifying the corporate code but they botched the simplification part. I wanted to make it revenue neutral by taxing passive income more.

They also watered down the EITC making it even more regressive.

I'm fine with Gorsuch and I was fine with Kavanaugh until he displayed his disgraceful temperament and partisanship during his hearings. He should not be on the supreme court after seeing that.

Fine with military spending.

Trump fucked up big by abandoning TPP and I don't like his maverick trade war and his attempts to weaken NATO.

I hate his attacks on the press and the courts.

I don't really care much about abortion one way or another.

I very clearly stated that what I have an issue with is when people attack massive groups of people. I also very clearly stated that comments about individual posters have to be looked at and checked for accuracy. Calling an individual racist may actually be true, you have to look at the situation. Calling all liberals racist is obviously absurd.

By the way, calling all liberals racists is an attack on individual posters who are liberal. Obviously. It's an attack on all liberal posters.

This all started over people saying certain posters were liberal. That was what this was all about.

If we clamped down on calling liberals or right wingers a name people like Trotsky and Fawlty would be outcasts.

And no. Calling liberals or conservatives something is not an attack on individuals. Because we are in fact independent thinking humans. I am both conservative and liberal.

I choose not to get outraged over that silliness. I get outraged when a specific individual is attacked. That's why I've actually defended someone like Trotsky even though I know the favor would NEVER come back my way

But with good reason. I mean "hate" might be a strong word, but you're just being dishonest if you refuse to acknowledge that there is a certain disdain for white people coming from the left. It might not be "kill whitey" stuff, but the things being said about whites from the left, would be construed as hate speech if it was directed at any other race.

Are you denying this? I can pull up plenty of examples if you'd like.

I never really think about my financial benefit when voting.

Sure, but like I said, they're also voting in a way that hurts themselves. If they were advancing the issues they claim to care about by voting on identity then it would make sense.

It's wrong though. There may be a segment on the far left. But there's also a segment on the far right that's equally bad. Does no good to label the entire group. I probably agree with both Nazis and the Nation of Islam on a few issues. Does not mean I'm part of that group
