This is literally the first fight Alcantara has had in the longest time vs. someone who wants to strike with him. If you look at his record for the last few years, everyone he has fought is a grappler besides arguably Illarde Santos. On that fact alone, I'd be very hesitant betting someone who is likely looking to strike throughout most of the fight. Rivera had some scary moments against Munhoz, and like I said, Munhoz really wanted that fight on the mat and not standing. There is a good chance Alcantara may feel a lot more loose in this fight as he's had to worry about takedowns in all of his recent fights.
Don't underestimate Rivera's wrestling. I can see him incorporating it for sure.

Man the thing to be worried about is how strong mentally Ben seems right now. The dude obviously wants it bad, and its not like hes a bum, hes a good fighter.

I've seen a few posts of people playing barnett in round 3, but I think Ben in round 3 is a better play. If he goes down 2 rounds, which is more likely than Barnett losing the first two imo, I think hes gonna come out guns blazing.

I already have Ben by KO/TKO plus the over 1.5.

I was debating Josh by sub or go for the higher payout with Josh rd 3. I think Josh will have a hard time getting Ben to the mat unless Ben tires out so I think the most likely round Josh gets his sub is rd 3.

I don't think getting Ben down will be easy either, especially since his hands are by his hips a lot ready to underhook. if i'm not mistaken, he was able to get up a lot vs young Cain too.

But then again, Mark Hunt did score takedowns on him....

I'd have to imagine Hunto surprised Ben by even going for a takedown once, let alone multiple takedowns LOL.

I'm trying to remember without looking it up, was that the card in Denver where everyone gassed? And nobody worse than Hunt and Ben?

Yes it was, so definitely gotta consider that as a factor. Might rewatch that fight for lulz soon

Yes! That was just brutal. Putting HW's on that card...lulz indeed.

He was in a back and forth wrestling match with Yvel too.

Gonzaga was able to close the distance and clinch him without much resistance from Rothwell as well.

Maka+Cáceres+Tarec 1,5u
Ortiz+Natal 3u
Sage-barb over1,5 2u

I've been trying to figure out how his fighting style was pre-UFC whether he's been winning fights standing or wrestling with people? It's cuz he doesn't have any formal wrestling creds right? He said he joined Tiger Schulman's at a young age and I can't find any bjj belt ranks on him.

He was primarily a wrestler on the regionals, his stand up development is easily the most noticeable improvement in his game. Pretty sure you can find his Bellator fight where he gets outstruck by dude and then grapples the shit out of him in 2 and 3.

Not to gas up my state too much here, but even if he didn't pursue wrestling further than high school hes my age (26) and iirc NJ was a top 5 state in the country for high school wrestling when I was in school. I wrestled out of state locally in HS and you could DEFINITELY feel a difference. Obviously thats nothing compared to some of these all americans, but I have a hard time believing anywhere in Brazil has better wrestling training than NJ

not liking ben rothwell, thought he won his last 2 fights due to his opponents making retarded mistakes. that's the only reason why the line is close. barnett will push the pace and is the technically superior fighter (although that isn't a guarantee for anything, especially at HW). barnett at slight fav is a steal imo

i like a lot of fucking favorites on this card, hard to know which ones to parlay.

just backed
sage, ortiz, OAM. £106 returns £257

also 8 fold maniac parlay

sage
ortiz
oam
tarec
barnett
levan (i don't know much about him but damon jackson blows ass chunks)
natal
brown

£10 returns £195 lol

gonna play a few more permutations of 2 men parlays with those 8

i actually like bader in the main event and think he's got a real shot if he doesn't get starched early (big IF). will play him if i'm in the profits. actually i can't lie i will probably play him regardless. DEGENERATE LIFE

Just to touch even more on the Rivera fight, and another confidence boost I forgot about it (and this is also a reminder I need to stop slacking on tape watching), i'm watching Bookie Beatdown from FightNetwork and they bring up Alcantara vs Doane where I remember Doane scoring multiple takedowns and controlling portions from on top. They're even alluding to Doane getting robbed? I don't remember the fight too much to remember that, but that would certainly be a confidence boost if you're struggling with Russell Doane lol

btw, both of the dudes on the show are also on the "Rivera def got this" train

you sure? 5d has it at 135
Tapology has it as 145. It also makes sense because Masio is a FW, and I do not believe either of them have fought since the IV ban. But no, I am not totally positive now that you brought up 5d has it as 135. I do think it is at 145 though

Its at 145, 5d fucking up.

Speaking of 5d fucking up, where are the full props?!

lazy bums! i bet tomorrow.

bellator small props prolly go up friday afternoon

5d still has it +330

idk, i'm waiting still

might just do +3.5 on that one (and CDF)
