No Spoilers Official The Callisto Protocol Discussion [PS/PC/Xbox]

Hmm, reading more there are a lot of people I follow who genuinely like the game. The value doesn’t really seem to be there but I’m spending $15 to go see Violent Night for two hours tomorrow so I guess it’s all relative.

Super bumming news. Was really hoping this was my December game to grind on. But, that's ok. I have Witcher 3 coming out and I've never played that.

This will be another Cyberpunk. I'll wait for 99% of the content and fixes to drop and then I'll jump in. It's looking like mid-2023.

Seems to have some fixable issues at least, I'll still check it out at some point but my urgency to pick it up lowered a bit. Disappointing to hear that there is very little tension and dread when the hype to this was built on that.

But at the same time when I'm ready to pick this up Dead Space may be out or close to the release date so this may end up being one ill wait for a sale on.

Guess PS5 is the most optimized “by far.”

Well, I'm still hoping to buy the game soon but it'll be after an update to fix some of the issues.

As for the few who are saying this is a massive disappointment, you're being a bit overdramatic especially with the comparison to CP2077. Survival Horror games aren't known as the 10/10 masterpieces we'd like to hype them up to be. Even the most respected SH game of the last few years, RE2make, has ALOT of issues and could be ripped apart as 'A Complete Dissapointment' when judged as a remake to the original game.

My point is, when did absolute perfection become our demanded standard for everything? Probably due to the fact we've played the best games ever along with the expectations we gin up due to the marketing.

-"OMG This is going to be epic!"
*Reviews aren't perfect.*
-"WTF I'm never going to play this piece of shit!"

There’s hope for a Resident Evil 4 repeat.

There’s hope for a Resident Evil 4 repeat.

I already expressed my detailed thoughts in the RE4make thread, but I went from 'We don't need a remake to one of the GOAT games' to 'Okay, I'm intrigued to learn more.'

I'm not quite buying into the hype yet.

For those who are overanalyzing the criticisms in the reviews at least should watch the first 55 minutes of the game at full resolution.

I watched it and concluded this is a game right up my alley. There's so few Space/SciFi/Horror experiences out there and the graphics are extremely good.

Based on the reviews there's some optimization issues, and the PS5 gets better performance than the Series X?

So this is still very high on my 'Games To Play' list but as I said I'll wait for a few updates.

Looks like I'll be playing Witcher 3 and a few other games I bought on Black Friday, then the Dead Space remake will be out and hopefully the Callisto Protocol updates will be make it a damn near 10/10 experience we'll be talking about for years to come.

Looks like lots of people are going to save 75 bucks with tax towards Xmas gifts.

Let me know when this hits the 29.99 bin.

It just dawned on me that the name of the protagonist in Callisto Protocol could be a deliberate nod to Dead Space, given this game is effectively the spiritual successor to Dead Space.

In Dead Space your character is named Isaac. In Callisto Protocol your character is named Jacob. Could be references to the Biblical Isaac and his son Jacob.

I bought the game earlier and to my horror saw all the reviews saying the combat was bad. I then started the game about an hour ago and so far what I've seen, the combat is pretty fun, definitely not as bad as people are saying. I like the dodge mechanic. So far I'm liking the game (ps5)

Just seen a clip of a monster that jumps out of an egg sac and bites you. That looks genuinely terrifying lmao. Also kinda looks like the old chocolate lady from SpongeBob
