Multiplat Official Space Marine 2 Disc

I was browsing the PS Store last night and saw a Ubi title for preorder (Star Wars Outlaws) with a price of 130€ or 140€. I don't care what edition they want to call it or even if it makes breakfast for me, that's some bull, I'd immediately thought.
They're smoking some grade A crack over there

Special edition Space Marine 2 graphics cards (only 20)

It will be part of a giveaway, ASUS will reveal more at Gamescom in about 6 hours

Some really great reviews coming in! Unfortunately, I don't see myself jumping in right away due to Wukong. With 1 baby and 1 toddler, my gameplay is really limited to weekend nights.

For those about to embark on the journey, make the Emperor Proud.

Heard that the PS5 version will be adding haptics at a later date. I think I'll hold off until then. I was trying to decide between this and Wukong but I think I'll go for Space Marines 2. Kind of burned out on Soulslike games.

Also, this is pretty awesome but will only be available to one person that wins a contest.

This is incredible. One of the best PS mods I've ever seen.

I've heard nothing but great things about the game itself, however, most reviewers are saying there's not a ton of content. The campaign is roughly 6hrs and the developer is hoping you'll grind the same co-op missions until S1 drops. From the roadmap, it appears S1 & S2 will release in 2024. One reviewer said the game will be in it's best phase around S4 (2025).

That said, I think if you want a complete package, Wukong is your choice. But, if you're ok with the grind and waiting for seasons, SM2 is solid.

A friend of mine got this early and I was able to play some, the gameplay is very fun but sound issues popped up often. At times the audio completely stopped, hopefully a patch fix. I don't know much about the lore so for me it was just a kill fest lol.

I picked up the ultra edition to play early and all I can say is Glory to the Emperor!

If you liked the first one or are fans of W40K you will be very pleased. The gameplay gets a tad bit repetitive. But if you are here to cut through swaths of Xenos with a chainsaw sword for glory of the imperium of man, than you are in luck brother.
Fans of the 40k universe will love the lore exposition and it’s pretty digestible for people who are coming in fresh.
All in all I’m having a blast in the 4-5 hours I got to play

I'm on the fence for full price right now, as I really only want it for the campaign, and it's very short.

Those coop missions look fun though, wish there were more missions. It sounds like something they can really build on.

I love 40K, so I prob won't be able to prevent myself from buying.

I get to wait till Monday to play it. But the first one was a blast.

I love me some 40k so got the early release version, unfortunately had to work the last 3 days so havent had a lot of time to play it until today. Im about half way through the campaign solo. Thoughts:

+ Visually, it looks amazing and runs well even maxed out with swarms of Tyranids (PC with RTX3080 ti, so ymmv)

+ Gameplay is fun, action is chaotic, probably the best representation of 40k combat in a game to date.

+ lots of weapon variety

+ Character customization and squad creation seems pretty sweet (although i haven't played with that too much)

- Squad AI in the single player campaign is completely useless except to help you up. They do almost no damage, and even if they are attacking something the enemies will ignore them entirely and only attack you, so you just get annihilated by ranged enemies and cant do anything about it.

- Veteran and Angel of Death solo play (hard/hardest difficulty) are a complete waste of time until the squad AI is fixed; unless you don't mind dying a ton and restarting the same frustrating defend the objective parts repeatedly.

- Normal is a joke after playing veteran for the first couple levels. The difference in difficulty between normal and veteran is huge; although with useful AI squadmates or playing co-op, I think it will be fine.

- There are Red and Blue quicktime events that happen in the middle of fights, Red can only be dodged (easy), blue gives a window to Parry / counterattack, but its very inconsistent and never seems to work for anything except Hormogaunts (the weakest unit that dies easily anyway).

Can you lvl up in this game and does it have a talent tree with side quests that give you weapons and equipment?

The single player campaign does not (certain weapons are unavailable until later like the power sword or Thunder Hammer), but multiplayer does have classes, perk trees, and different equipment.

Played about an hour on the weekend and my first impressions were really good overall. Visually it's really impressive with hordes flowing all over the maps

Although as a 40K casual Tyranids are one of my favourite armies, I'm not that keen on them as an enemy in this game and preferred the Orks/Chaos of the first game. I prefer gunplay to melee so I guess the huge emphasis on melee makes it feel like a slog for me but I'm only a short way in so it'll probably grow on me as enemy variety improves and more guns are added

Bought the standard edition which unlocked a few hours ago. Been avoiding all online content about the game for i wish to experience it first hand. Initially impressions werent that good, lol.

Only had time to watch the opening cinematic and play the first ~3 minutes of the tutorial stage. Melee which is by default bound to right mouse didnt work.

The single player campaign kind of sucks, it has some call of duty moments, but it's not that well designed and is a bit dated in a way. Simple maps, simple story, and it's short. It's sort of a glorified tutorial. The default keybinds also kind of suck so you'll have to change them to your preferences.

The co-op stuff is MUCH better and a lot more fun, it's just held back a bit because there are only 6 maps. The classes and progression and designing of your own space marine in co-op is nice.

Visually though, it doesn't get too much better than this especially in the genre.
