RBR ***Official*** Sherdog Sanctioned Paul vs Tyson 11/15 5:30PM ET ( Netflix )

That ended up being kinda sad to see. Mike looked like a complete shell of himself.

Not sure why but I expected him to look a bit better despite his age.

That was a worse look for Jake. A 58 year old and he couldn't drop or hurt him much never mind stop him.

Vitor stopped 58yo Holyfield in the 1st round.

Only time I didn't hear Jake call out Clenelo post fight. I think it sunk it for Jake that he realized he is trash at boxing lol.

Hell yes, Practical effects make a WORLD of difference.

I got to see it in theatres a few years ago with a Q and A with Cronenberg and Geena Davis.

Double feature with Naked Lunch after.

Good times, good times.
I bet that was badass. One of the greatest directors of our time. His son is doing good work, also. Has a new movie out that I still need to watch

Fun fact.

The arm-wrestling scene in The Fly featured George Chuvalo as the guy who got his wrist broken by Brundle.

Chuvalo fought Ali.

Ali said on numerous occasions that Chuvalo was the toughest opponent he ever had. He said Chuvalo hit like a freight train.

Hmm, guess I need to research arm wrestler training.

Sounds interesting.

Seems like it would be amazing for jiu jitsu.

As I said, it's difficult to find that balance in terms of the business of putting on fights that sell tickets and ppvs, while simultaneously challenging him

Because all the guys who are at his level, amateur to early pro, don't have any profile or marketability.

I can guarantee his career is being build up by very experienced boxing promoters who are navigating this balance very carefully, but if he isn't good enough yet to fight actual names with profile, then it's tricky.

At the same time, it's common for boxers to take carefully cherry picked fights in their first 15-20.

So, I think people need to be more realistic as well, within the context of how boxers have historically been built up. Even the greats.

That being said, I think a fury rematch would make a lot of sense right now.

I think they tried to book a fight with alis grand son but he turned it down.
I understand the can feeding/selected fights to build a guy up, a tried and true strategy to build names. You're right though, it is a difficult balance when he and promoters are trying to cash in on his name before he even had a can record.

My point is that he can't expect any respect as a boxer while he's in that can/selected fights period, especially considering the age and weight discrepancies that benefited him for the most part.

Outside Fury, he hasn't had a legit boxing match. Funny enough, the only time I respected him as an aspiring boxer was that Fury fight. I'd like to see a rematch, or him just fighting a guy at his level/age. If he's only going to fight over the hill former names, then he'll deservedly continue to get zero respect, and that should be understandable.

So did any of you learn your lesson?

Are you going to pay attention to the next Jake Paul fight? Even if its for free?

I watched the GamebredBKMMA card and had a great time of it, and as soon as it was over switched over to see Jake Paul's entrance... to halfway through the final round... so that was about 35 minutes of my life I wasted.

Some of you watched the whole card, with constant buffering.

Bivol or beterbiev would do damage to him they are actually jakes size he shouldn't call out the smaller canelo.

Jorge masvidal promotion really captures that vale tudo spirit.

Jake will probably admit it at some point in the future but he 100% was going easy on Mike...he could have unloaded at any time. Maybe he was a little afraid of doing it but I don't think that was the whole story...

If Jake had any semblance of intelligence or understanding of narratives, he would have let Tyson 'land' a devastating body shot, and taken a knee to the count of 10.

There was ZERO upside to 'winning' this fight. Zero. He's LESS marketable as a result of carrying Tyson the remaining 6 rounds.

All he had to do was play his part in fulfilling the redemption arc of a boxing idol.

Pretty much.

Its main problem is the talent level is extremely low. Mostly old vets far past their prime. On tonights card there was a 48 year old... who won.

And the production values are dirt poor, from the production to the cage itself there needs to be serious improvements.

The #1 thing they need to do to make it more like its own unique MMA promotion is to drop the circular cage they bought from Bellator/PFL, and develop their own fight arena.

The Octagon/Circular cage is tired, and too reminescent of the UFC. And they're horrible for the audience to see unless they're watching on the overhead monitors.

And for the love of God, fire Brenden Schaub.
Get Adam Hunter back.
