That's true, he was wearing out Wilder by piling his body on him and holding. COuldn't do that here

There were several instances in the last two Wilder fights where Fury just put all of his weight on Wilder and pushed him to the ground, which forced Wilder to burn energy fighting the clinch and then getting back up.

He was vary of even grabbing Ngannou over the top because Ngannou knows how to dirty box inside the clinch while carrying someone.

"BUBBBBUUUUT FRANCIS FUMBLED TEH BAAAAAG!"

- Random Sherdog internet genius.
Francis has boxing fans looking to see him fight next. He made Tyson fury timid. Floyd be Logan Paul was carrying. Francis that guy he really has crazy power in both hands the punch that dropped him was also unorthodox so it landed flush. To generate that power quickly on such an odd angle Francis is just that guy. He lost but nahhh he was supposed to be destroyed. Proud of him and good looks on Tyson for being a gent.

Every great fighter has a moment where they need to worry about points. This time, two fighters who were both in a new situation decided to play it safe. I'm sorry you're a fifty year fan of the sport and are only discovering this now, but it sounds like forty of those years were spent huffing paint.
How old are you? 12? You have no clue what you'er talking about. That much is obvious. Great fighters go all out in close fights at the end exactly because they have to worry about points and how the judges will see it.

I'm glad you're confident in yourself because you're ridiculous.

Francis fought for MMA. Francis fought for us.

MMA overtook boxing tonight. This night will go in the history books and that picture of Francis standing over Fury laying on the canvas will be this generation's Ali picture.

Terrible performance by Fury, and incredible performance by Ngannou.

He was schooling Fury in the clinch, and it destabilized him

You look at his endurance in grappling against Gane and it translates to clinch boxing in an MMA fight the gypsy king gets murdered

No in a boxing match it didn't. Just like MMA the skill gap isn't as big in the higher weight classes. Francis is just a beast. Very rare human and he showed that tonight. It will never happen again if some other MMA fighter gets a boxing match

Oh really ? I never would have guessed that boxing is scored round by round.

What criteria was Fury supposedly winning?
  • Effective Aggression – Being aggressive gives the impression of dominance, but unless the boxer is landing shots and not constantly getting countered, it’s not exactly “effective.” Judges look for effective aggression, where the aggressor consistently lands his punches and avoids those from his opponent.
  • Ring Generalship – The fighter who controls the action and enforces his will and style.
  • Defense – How well is a boxer slipping, parrying, and blocking punches? Good defense is important.
  • Hard and Clean Punches – To the untrained eye, it can appear as if a boxer is landing a lot of shots, when, in fact, most are being blocked or aren’t landing flush. A judge needs to look for hard shots that land clean.
Effective Aggression - Slight edge to Fury. Francis landed the most damaging significant strikes of the fight however Fury was throwing more volume and landing more strikes overall. Significant strikes overall were pretty even.
Ring Generalship - Ngannou. He was controlling the center more but he wasn't continually walking Fury down, he also had less activity when it came to actual punches being thrown.
Defense - Fury. Francis had the bigger moments but Ngannou had a few solid 1-2's down the line and ate more shots overall.
Hard and Clean Punches - Slight edge to Francis. Francis had the bigger moments but Fury landed a few unanswered solid 1-2's of his own.

Extremely close fight, but I think 95-94 Fury was the right scorecard.

As an MMA fan sherdog is the forum. MMA fighting is also hilarious with the no spell check but better
