I legitimately feel bad for Biden. I haven't watched all of the debate but it's clear as day that his age has caught up with him.

I know I'm sort of an asshole, but my heart breaks for the guy. We should try to be civil towards the elderly in such vulnerable states. I know no one's going to agree but I can't help it.

We’ve gotten to the stage of “it’s just a typical 80 year old” as in it’s okay that he’s basically drooling on stage since it’s normal for someone that old.

they gaslight on every issue from the start and they move goalposts every time their narrative suffers a loss until it crumbles and they run out of space.

i can't believe it but we've reached, "hey, he looks good for an 80 something dementia patient".

we're not there YET, but we're getting close to these cultists realizing, at least to themselves, "holy shit, they rigged an election and installed a brainless puppet this whole time".

I feel ya, I took great satisfaction seeing him smack Paul Ryan around during the debates. It was entertaining

Even Mondale laughed. Shame we’ve become so divided.
He did, but should he have? Mondale was arguably the worst candidate ever. To think that we believe the Dems of today look rough. They never stared a 49 state landslide in the face and lived to tell about it. LOL.

You’re right, he should not have. But it gives a glimpse into the state of politics at the time. Even the moderator laughed. Clearly there was a civility that’s long gone.

As a very left-leaning left person, I agree completely. There needs to be no mocking about it, but at the same time he is definitely unfit to be president and it is absolutely selfish and insane to run him again and expect four more good years out of him.

In addition to the relatively easy job of running the country's economy, our President also has to be mentally fit to defend the country against foreign adversaries and should some kind of very serious disaster strike on that front, we can't have it befuddled old man answering the phone at 2:00 a.m..

The fact that more people are not mentioning this just shows that we now live in a deluded time where people are in full flight from reality. We are in decline.

I genuinely think Trump is more dangerous even on his best day even at the age of 50, but that's for the Republicans to sort out. As a Democrat I've got to stand against trying to reelect Biden.

We need to replace Biden with a viable candidate and run against Trump.

Yeah, but I think you have to strike a balance. While that was a nice moment, you don't want the opposition being a fan of your jokes. Imagine if everyone Trump zinged just laughed with him about it? He'd already be King by now.

Also, some may look back at the moderator being biased for that. Remember, it was the Reagan era. Dude could do no wrong. If I was on the opposing side, I would be disgusted at how chummy everyone seemingly was with Reagan.

yeah but the amount of collusion is enormous - from politicians to media, to opinion shapers, to institutions, everybody acted like it's not real, and violently protested with vile accusations against anyone saying what they knew as well. this is a huge problem.

like I said earlier, all these people colluded and flat out lied to everyone, including their own party members.

can we skip the foreplay and just call it a cult? i think we can safely say that now that they're starting to unravel.

To be fair, that was a doozy from Reagan. But the point is that despite him being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s not long after, he was “sharp as a tack” during the run up to the election. Not so with Biden. Imagine Biden a year from now, let alone four. His own side is saying he’s regressed rapidly just in the last 18 months.

No arguments there. It was a perfect joke that Biden would not be capable of making.

Imagine Biden trying to make that joke...

"I don't want to...uhh...what I mean is...uhh...hmmm...he has nice hair and...uhh..."

"That's time Mr. Biden."

Mondale still won 86% of the vote in DC. <lol>

Summed it up well here.

No mocking, but the man is clearly unfit. He actually reminds me of my grandfather leading up to his death. I always said that every year after 80 is like an extra decade in decline.

You can be absolutely perfect up until that point, but once you cross that threshold, it's over.

He needs to be replaced.

I mean I guess I'd point out the members of his own party going into panic mode calling it "a disaster" etc. The blank stares with his mouth open, him not being able finish sentences numerous times. These are things being pointed out by people who want him to win! This isn't just "old and sleepy". You don't have to offer a diagnosis of dementia to accept that there's severe diminishment of mental acuity.
I don't necessarily disagree about the Trump point but again, even people who are fully on team Biden are pointing out how much sharper Trump was. (Not honest mind you--that's not something Trump seems too interested in or maybe even is capable of--but the contrast in how "with it" each of them were was "staggering" according to some major Dem donors).

It's a little weird you'd think someone deluding themselves a bit also couldn't be trying to come to conclusions in good faith. As humans, we subtlety justify a lot to ourselves in order to have our worldview validated. Confirmation bias, etc are all tools we use. I don't think you're intentions are dishonorable, I think you're seeing thing skewed a bit so they look just close enough to how you want them to look. Again, that's my opinion on your view. And of course I'm sure you can and will dismiss it and that's fine.
You're right I will dismiss it because it comes off as bad faith, just something to say when you prefer not to address what I said and instead prefer to try to dissect the psychology behind it. Most within his party are worried about his electability. Its true some are genuinely worried about his cognitive function but at the same time many voters are also worried about Trump's criminality and yet I don't see anywhere near as much talk about Trump stepping down. It reeks of double standards really.
72% and 41% still being ignored
I am the 59%.
