"a bit more action oriented?"

We've gone down that road before...

yikes.

Released in 2012.

Since then theyve released REvelation 2, RE7, RE2make, and RE3make, all to critical and commercial success...

Thats definitely a great run of main RE games.....

...you know that's 1 original game and 3 remakes, right? in other words, it's a "great run of" 1.

How did I know you were gonna be so pedantic? I knew you were gonna focus on the 'literal' instead of actually acknowledging what I meant [which you do, but hate to admit it]

...as you say, evading the actual point to pretend it's just the first line mocking the "literal."

What does any of that even mean?

...it means that you clearly did not know what "cult classic" meant at the time of the post.

and here i was, reading about demon's souls remake (days after reading about rdr1 remake) and thinking that vidya has officially jumped the shark and gone hollywood, and is just lazily cashing in on remakes/reboots/sequels. i mean, vidya has been bad with sequels for a long time, but now RE games are being simultaneously remade and sequeled... and now with fucking werewolves?

i mean, i don't mind sequels in games based on play that are actually significantly adding to the experience (ie: goldeneye -> perfect dark -> timesplitters -> timesplitters 2 -> timesplitters future perfect [added online play, otherwise 2 was better] ), but most IPs seemed to have hit a wall in that regard. like... shit, red faction had destuctible environments. like 18 years ago or something.

but shit, at least RE has werewolves finally.

Hi there

latest

Yeah and we got RE2, RE3, RE4 and so on and so on...

RE4 was the beginning of the "action oriented" nonsense.

I lose all escapism into survival horror if I can spin kick a zombie.

NO FUCKING KUNG FU SHIT.

RE7 was perfection. Stick with that vibe. We need not "action" we need suspense.

...a werewolf?

No its a ridiculous giant from RE4 proving that this series never cared about consistency and just goes for creating crazy shit that can scare people.

RE8 looks amazing, was getting kinda bored of over the shoulder zombie games. Going to be a welcome change. I think it will be their scariest game.

...duh. that should have been the end, unless you want to post about a vampire or frankenstein.

I thought you were asking me if that thing was a werewolf and I said no. My point is this series has never shied away from adding crazy stuff and we should celebrate them for it. I think a lot of people are getting burnt out on the same thing.

Are you suggesting we should never branch out and get the same stuff over and over?

yes, this is totallllllllllllllllllllly what i said. /s

against fucking werewolves? could it be an aversion to LCD... or... or... maybe he wants the same stuff over and over? yeah, that's why he doesn't like remakes! oh, wait.

RE8 is a new game

I count 2 remakes and 2 originals... I guess math aint your strong suit.

I clearly meant that DeS is a cult classic and used the word 'literally' to exaggerate my point. What makes you say that I dont know what 'cult classic' meant? Anyone with two brain cells couldve figured that out, but you clearly lack those two brain cells.

Lets look at Google's definition...

'something, typically a film or book, that is popular or fashionable among a particular group or section of society.'

Does DeS fit that definition? Yes, it fucking does. If you try to argue that its 'mainstream', youre a damned idiot. Youre clearly someone with no intention on using facts or data to prove your damn points, like I did in previous posts, so Im going to stop here. Its boring talking to an idiot for too long.

RE7 was great, having it a little more action packed might be a good thing. The most loved games in the series, are slightly more action packed...

I dunno. I think the series wins in moments like the hook intro where your demonic girlfriend goes all "evil dead" on ya. Or when you are trying to creep around the family's house collecting shit while they are arguing during dinner. The game fails when you have a bazooka or can ninja kick shit.

I love RE7 but the more 'horror' RE games lose replayability. Those scenes wont be as shocking on a second playthrough, adding more action makes the game more repayable. I can stick RE4 in and watch Luis talk about the president equipping his daughter with ballistics and Leon spin kicking ganados, a billion times and not get bored. But to each his own.

Ya you and I are not gonna see eye to eye. The repeatability in RE games is to unlocking the rocket launchers and the like so you can take the horror and suspense out of it and just blow shit up. They actually have the most replay motivation than any other game I've played and I find myself tearing apart every single horror based game built like that.

But give me my first playthrough and have it be suspenseful and horrific. Not kung fu and bazookas. I have doom for that and it does it better.

Who are you Nick Diaz?

Yes, we are throwing spinning shit now.
