Multiplat Official Remnant II Discussion

@Valhoven if you love melee build, try using the Challenger archtype! I think you need to beat the campaign to get it though. Apparently you have something called Bulwark that can stack damage reduction . That lets you become an enraged swinging savage in mob crowds.

Im rocking a blue Katana but deep down like those charging staffs. Won’t spoil the secrets

Alright boys, just bit the bullet. I think Diablo IV finally ran its course.

Playing a Veteran Handler. How screwed am I?

Handler is one of the better starting classes. Guns are preference but I think the AR it starts with is the best starting weapon and better than a lot of boss weapons. Excellent blend of accuracy, DPS, and handling. Really great weapon.

Thanks. Will do. Currently use a cool Bulwark ring I’d looted that gives me a defensive stack if within 15m of foe while maining maxed Medic. Love skills like Healing Shield to freely get in on bigger guys and get my high-stagger Babe Ruth on. My crossbow hits for almost 300 DMG a bolt right now so I play long or CQ, not too strong at mid, TBH.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. How difficult is Veteran compared to Normal? Also, is does my companion help out in a decent way? I decided to pick the Handler mainly because of the pup.

Do my relic fragments for blight resistance help against root rot?

Worst status affliction in my book because I always think I’ll push on and that cough just debilitates you at all the wrong moments from reload animation cancel to dodge and sprint.

It's the standard increased damage and enemy health, with increased exp. There is a table for each difficulty level. They make re-rolling extremely easy, so if you get overwhelmed you can just re-rolling the campaign or even a single world with adventure mode.

The dog is a lot more useful on Surv/Vet. In the later difficulties, he gets downed to easily.

You'll end up switching classes a ton as you progress, so don't get to used to it.

The early game relic fragments are such a small boost I wouldn't waste my time. You're better off just using consumables. I found a ring that prevents rot, but have no clue where I got it.

So I just started the game and got to some boss what's an eye. Am I ment to be farming before taking him on or do I just suck at this game?

Little of column a, little of column b. ;)

If you're near the beginning of the game you're probably not very strong, don't have great upgrades or jewelry yet. You might not be ready to fight certain bosses yet.

In my case, I started the game on losomn on veteran. After getting my ass thoroughly kicked, I re rolled campaign and started on ne rud on survivor. I did much better then, got good gear and was able to progress to the end.

Survivor difficulty will still kick your ass, don't worry.

Pulse gun is the best all around gun in the game.

I have decided!

With the gunslinger 3rd skill you can essentially turn this gun into a laser. Stack that with a status effect mod like burn or corrosive and you'll be able to regenerate your mod power very quickly as you're using it.

Best all around gun IMO, extremely effective in all situations. Better than alpha omega imo

I've finally found a build I feel confident in apocalypse and I guess all the time spent farming nightmare is making this seem way easier than it should be. I've downed every boss in one so far and they can't out damage my healing and DR. Only way I die is if I lose track of my relic status.

My next run is going to be a lighter class so I'm forced to rely heavily on evasion and movement speed instead of facetanking shots that would one shot any other build I've done.

About 30h in now. So fun. Still amazed how much stuff is missed even when exploring nook and cranny alike. Also love the HR Giger design inspiration in some worlds and POIs as you progress.

My favorite WPN is the Atom Smasher (no spoilers); comes with an organic mod called Accelerator that lights the mallet aflame by these cool blacksmith sparks (like R2-charged Boom Hammer from Bloodborne) and speeds up melee strikes for a good flurry. Still maining crossbow for long gun.

Figured out endgram for Challenger (not using guides so had to poke around, read flavor texts, and follow hunches) and have since been dual-classing that with Medic at @TribalDrumz advice. Very fun to mix up defensive crossbow calculation with hammer time. Appreciate the nudge.

Is there an item that removes this? I got it in the first world and died because of it

You can buy oilskin balm from Norah in the ward. It cures it. Whenever I'm in Yaesha, I have it bound as my first item.

What BEER said is right. Look for this (below) back at Ward. Keep an eye on armor resistances plus amulet/ring mitigators too:

Finally got a chance to play yesterday. Started Nightmare but re-rolled to veteran. Got to I think the final boss on ne rud and it's annoying but fun. Atmosphere and game play give me some Returnal vibes. I love the haunting music when enemies appear, super cool. Also, I like how the artifacts on the surface seem strange and make no sense until you head into a dungeon and trigger something. I love it. Game is a blast so far.

You stick with Handler? I’ve not played that class but consensus seems to be it being the smartest all-around pick. There are a lot of hidden classes so I hope I figure out how to unearth one or two. I like that sharp violin strike too when a stronger mob boss manifests. *click, click

Yea, I wanted to have a pup with me on my journey so I said why not and went with it. I had no idea there are hidden classes which makes this game even better. Will there be DLC?
