No Spoilers Official Red Dead Redemption 2 Discussion

Downloaded modern warfare remastered on ps4 and noodled a round with it today. That winter crash map is ridiculous

Hey @Slick_36

How’d you get the Native American looking clothing on your character in red dead online? I want my character to look sort of like Harnish. I know the buckskin pants but what shirt?

Frumpy shirt with the outdoorsman vest.

Just restarted it. Got to chapter 2 and immediately when to get the white arabian, buts not there.

Is there 1 or 2 other things i gotta do first before she spawns? No youtube vids are specific.
Unlock the stable by doing hoseas first quest

I can't wait until I unlock fast traveling. Too bad you can't fast travel like in Fallout.

We were robbed of this game and song being popular at the same time

Finding that robbing stores is actually a fantastic way to make quick money

Has anyone been able to get the GTA V Online Golden Double Action Revolver. It's supposed to be in your inventory after Chapter 1 but it wasn't there. I raided a house and stole a Double Action Revolver but it won't let me engrave that one or anything for free. Pretty bummed. At least I got that awesome Stone Hatchet. You can throw it or use it as a melee.

Also lost my awesome Arabian White Steed. She died after I accidentally jumped over a ledge and died. When I respawned I had a shite base Painted horse. My last manual save was almost 2 hours behind my current auto and my auto-save updated when I respawned. That was hilarious into annoying immediately. Guess I gotta go tame a new one tonight. I got her up to level 3 and it takes a long time to level up elite horses.

Me putting an Elk out of its misery. Feels bad mane.

Lastly, the legendary Bear I was talking about in a previous post fucking me up. I got DiCaprio'ed.

Bear was lucky he was going up against Arthur and not 12 untrained strongmen.

Also having a hard time getting perfect pelts even using the weapons they tell me to
Head shots with dead eye. The bow and the varmint rifle are the go to weapons for clean kills mostly. Also get the legendary buck and craft the trinket at the fence will help 2 star animals become 3's when you kill them.

seeing this thread bumped reminded me of how much of a disappointment this "game" was.

to be fair this game is very boring

No it isn't. It's easily one of the most revolutionary games of this generation. If you cant appreciate the ridiculous attention to detail, and all the things you can do in this absurdly robust sandbox, then I can't help you.

I appreciate the attention to detail, but searching through drawers isn't fun

You do that in most every adventure/RPG game. This one just had an animation to it. Seriously, that's your complaint? I mean, the realistic animations were jarring at first(I even bitched about it on my initial impressions), but it's nothing that takes away from the overall experience and is easy to get used to. Were you mad that it showed you getting onto your horse as well, instead of just warping onto it? Pulling a gun from your holster?

This is an immersive game, and the goal is to immerse you. You can't do that as well, by pulling videogame shortcuts. The only thing that got a little grating after a while, were the long horse rides during missions, that I would've rather been made pure cut-scenes. As realistic and immersive as it is, it's a bit much after a while. Minor quibble overall though.

Yes opening drawers was a big issue for me because I'm one of those people who needs to open every drawer to make sure they didn't miss anything. Most games will let you open one and show you everything in the general area. It would make sense if this were some kind of survival horror game where you had to get in search everything and get out before you were detected, but it's just lame. Riding the horse wasn't so bad as you could at least put it in cinematic mode and do something else.

Meh, it's just an animation. If anything, I was more annoyed at the detection of certain items, like when you have to line up perfectly to pick up a certain item, but it keeps highlighting one that you don't want. That's when the ultra realistic animations can fuck you, and you have to start tapping the stick to hit the sweet spot where it will highlight the item you want.

It's not without some faults, but for what they were going for, I'd be hard pressed to truly criticize any element of it. It's about as open and robust as a sandbox game of this type can get.
