You bought Midnight Walk, Z?

Game looks mega creative (love the matchstick boom gun) and would like to hear your thoughts at some point.

@Zazen
So the thing about that gun is that it's actually used to solve puzzles. In fact there is zero combat in the game. It's about puzzle solving and trying to sneak past monsters. If you've ever played Little Nightmares there are some similarities to be found. Those games also don't have combat and they mostly involve puzzles and hiding from grotesque monsters. Overall I'm happy with my purchase. I like these unique experiences and I enjoy supporting studios that are passionate about making games and aren't just following the latest trends. I'll leave you with this

Here are some positives.

+ Superb stop-motion animation

+ Environmental story-telling. Does a great job of showing rather than telling.

+ Wacky characters that feel very original and make the game feel alive. If you like Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas I think you'll find that this world appeals to you a lot. In fact this same studio (Moonhood Studios) is the team behind Lost in Random which also takes inspiration from Tim Burton's works.

+ You can play on PSVR2 or on flat screen

+ Potboy is very cute

+ Many heartfelt moments. This is what surprised me the most. The game takes on a lot of themes like loss and grief and the way it presents them in the story is well-done imo. I haven't reached the ending yet but I expect that there will be more emotional moments.

A few negatives.

-
The price is quite high for what it offers. I've heard the game is around four hours if you try to get through it quickly. At most it's between six to eight hours if you try to collect everything and speak to all the characters and take in the world. It's listed at 39.99 right now but I think 29.99 would have been more fair.

- Sadly the PSVR2 version of the game has poor resolution. Probably best to wait for an update before playing it this way. The devs already know about it and are working on a fix.

- Linear, not much exploration besides looking around for collectables in the areas you walk through. Not personally a negative for me but there are a lot of gamers that like exploration and big worlds. This isn't one of those games.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising is a great fighting game. One of the few that’s easy to pickup for new players as well. The mechanics are simple to learn. Such a gorgeous looking game too. Of the ones I havent played Sand Land seems most appealing

Stalker arriving here on PS Extra 20 March is coming enhanced for the Pro in 4K30, 4K40, 4K60, and 2K120 graphical-performative modes.

If you own Stalker already, the upgrade path to Enhanced Edition should be free.

Jade Redmond has left Haven Studios and their game has dropped the $ from the name and will be known as Fairgames

PlayStation leadership didn't give Haven staff a reason for her departure, but it came several weeks after an external test of Haven's first game, the online shooter Fairgames, according to people with knowledge of the matter. Some developers at Haven were concerned about how the game was received and its progress, said the people, who asked not to be identified because they aren't authorized to speak publicly.

I don't see this game succeeding. In fact I think it will go the Concord route. Better off pulling the plug now. Also, her leaving is no surprise. I think she's done this many times before completing a project. Don't know how she keeps getting work.

Agee. Been there – done that. I get immediate Watch Dogs + Payday vibes with a pinch of The Finals and another game palette with attack of the highlighter. That name Fairgames with or without the USD symbol is also nondescriptive, stale; may as well rename it Shootgun or Bankrob. A good of Concord tanking so unbelievably hard is it reminded suits that we're in charge – the players. Make good sheet or eat sheet.

End of FY24 Q4 report out for Sony,

Hardware sales were down for Sony. Yet it was their most profitable year to date. Mainly because of sales through their digital storefront rose by 24%.

Sony CFO also said to expect more pricing increases across all Playstation services. To offset the estimated revenue loss of 600 million USD yearly from tariffs.

I don’t have anything against live service my issue is they keep chasing trends. They need something original. I had an idea that they could bring back the Resistance IP and make a PvE game out of it. You fight off alien invasions and the maps would be various towns and cities. There would be civilians and destructible environments. Your success would be based on preventing them from doing x amount of damage to the property and keeping the civilian death toll low. I think that would be neat and different. I think there was even a kaiju in one of them. You could have a kaiju event once in a while put in a bigger city map to keep things fresh.

Game i play generates an estimated 41% of Sonys total yearly revenue just from case key purchases at ~25% of Playstations monthly active user count. Thats not even including viewerpass, sticker, armory pass, in-game store and Steam marketplace revenue.

Fortnite at its peak with ~40% of Playstations monthly active users generated 3.4 billion more in yearly revenue than all of Sony.

This is why Sony are chasing for a live service game that they own.

Fortnite wasn’t chasing trends when it came out if I recall, it was the trend starter and there my point. They keep making games in genres that are already overstated. The one successful title was PvE and didn’t have much competition.

Epic Games did. They directly ripped off the concept from a Unreal Engine leaser PUBG. Then incorporated the mode into their survival tower defense base building game Fortnite Save the World. That was previously designed as a playable Unreal Engine tech demo.

While i understand your other points. That is not Sonys grand intent. How they get there is meaningless, they just want to get there.

Anyone had a chance to play The Precinct? I was able to spend about an hour playing and I enjoyed it alot. Not sure if it'll have long term legs with how the game is strict on following the same procedures but im assuming story will evolve to open up a bit more decision freedom.
