Interesting....I might skip the first game or just watch one of those cutscene compilation and jump into the second game.
I'd play the first one. If the first one isn't for you then this won't be either. I watched 20 minutes of gameplay and it's pretty much the same thing. A lot of walking and climbing. Wasn't really for me so I'll be skipping this one unfortunately. You'd also be confused as fuck even with watching the cutscenes. There's a lot of things you learn from conversations and also from reading different letters you get.

It's included in PS Plus Essential or Extra. Can't remember which one. It's the Director's Cut. You still got a bit over a month to finish it or at least find out if it is for you.

Sony is apparently reworking the Stars programme again so it will be going offline mid July without any announced relaunch date. If you've Stars, redeem sooner rather than later.

You can get full games for 2K-12K Stars; for example, HFW full game orbits 12K. You can also get trophies for your trophy case (Bloodborne, God of War et cetera) as well as store credit to buy whatever games you want.

I just exhausted mine this morning for store cash after recently getting the Bloodborne pin. All Stars items redeemed, Sony continues, are yours indefinitely and not tethered to the programme itself.
Ended up cashing out for some cash towards Onimusha 2. I legitimately hadn’t ever really checked it out.

Posting this to remind myself to share some screengrabs with you guys from my recent STALKER play. The night sky on the Pro with the Enhanced edition is chef-kiss gorgeous.

As promised, night sky the other night in Pro-enhanced STALKER as I'm out exploring the bogs of Chernobyl. Just beautiful, haunting.

Sony stock surges for second or third time in the last year as new financial arm spin-off in the works dubbed the Sony transformation. Recent changes in Japanese tax law make this move strategic, it's also reported.

A long-time world leader in image sensors, news elsewhere is Sony partnering with TSMC to ease increased production in the space and boost efficiency. King biz.

On the financial arm, more will be revealed this Thursday.

Nice. I never got to try Crab Souls. I heard it features witty, funny writing too.

Following Rik's post, I want to spotlight the annual fan-fave Days of Play event kicking off tomorrow and running into mid June.

  • 28 May - 11 June

Deals across the board from consoles, PSVR2, and peripherals to tonnes of games. If you haven't picked something up but want to, not a bad time to pull the trigger this weekend!

Original gangster and eccentric (as well as fellow Plat hunter) Mark Cerny is one of the dear few who've achieved Platinum status for Balatro, Push Square updates. This is free on Plus right now so grab if you haven't yet tried out.

PS5, PS4 Architect Mark Cerny Among the 0.1% to Platinum Indie Sensation Balatro.

As always, respect and bleed for the elusive pearl. Bravo, Mark.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is such a cool throwback to Jet Set Radio.

I got a physical version of it but I hope this allows more people to check it out.

So I downloaded STALKER from PS game catalogue and I ended up getting three separate application files for Chornobyl, Prypiat, and Clear Sky; all featuring very cool cover art, I’ll add.

Are these standalone expansions or what am I looking at? And which one should I start with?

I’ve read this game is awesome on the Pro and has cool performance options.

They’re separate, standalone games. Shadow of Chornobyl came out first in 2007, Clear Sky is a prequel that came out a year later and Call of Pripyat came out a couple of years after that and is a sequel. For some reason I don’t actually remember Clear Sky coming out at the time. I think I thought that was just an expansion to Shadow of Chernobyl.

Shadow of Chernobyl is one of those games that’s been in my backlog for literally 15+ years and I have yet to get around to playing it. I think I bought it on steam sometime in its first year of release before I even started law school

Thanks for sharing.

I just ordered another controller and Astro Bot.

I’m about 5h in on Call of Pripyat and having fun. I miss the friction of these older games with nothing explained. Feels good.

There are these intense emission flares that strike the area you’re investigating and it took me a heap of deaths to figure out on my own WTF to do, where to go. I still can’t get over how deep and alive the sky pops on the Pro. I play with all the lights off + my INZONE buds. Your weapons jam, have to ration food from kills and stashes, radiation is everywhere, you sneak about bogs, hills, craters, and rusty, washed-up ships...it's a whole survivalist vibe.

Thanks for the clarification on the series. First time playing the franchise for me. Dive in, dude.

Yeah, I have it in my PS5 backlog too, I picked up the re-release a few months ago and I had heard rumours that there would be some sort of visual upgrade coming. Now that it’s here I may dive in finally soon, after I get around to playing Doom TDA, which I started two weeks ago but have been too busy to play.

I also prebought Nightreign last night so that I can play that with my buddies, so Stalker will have to wait for that too.

Went ahead and ordered the DualSense Edge since it’s on sale. Got it in Midnight.

I figure the biggest knock on it is battery life but my days of 5 hour binges are over so it shouldn’t affect me much lol.

I’ve both Glacier and Midnight. Best controllers I’ve ever had. Smart pick-up, dude. I’ve been meaning to sell the older of the two but have held onto it. I use friction wraps for the controller beds that sit in palm, FWIW.

Sounds like a plan.

Something cool about STALKER is if you’re dealing with any anxiety or worry IRL, the play is pretty relaxing. It’s nonlinear, sandboxy. Crickets can be heard nights. If you see a campfire with your binoculars, go check it out.
