Film adaptations of Horizon: Zero Dawn and Helldivers announced at CES

Helldivers makes for an easy film adaptation if they capture the tone plus bonus points if they can get Casper Van Dien, IMO. Needs a savvy screenwriter.

Horizon…not so much. Could see being mad cheesy. Reddick has passed too, which would have been no-brainer casting. They should do a dedication if it materialises.

Probably the only avenue they want now after the TV show pretty much got shelved

Ghost of Tsushima Legends coming as well which is an anime. Probably had a good chance of being the best among the bunch

Nice. I've enjoyed their game adaptions so far. I thought GT was good. Same with Uncharted. I just rewatched it this past weekend actually. Obviously TLOU was well done also.

I’m very disappointed for this CES , I expected much more from Sony studios … for games

That would have been rad but sounds more a PlayStation showcase expectation.

Under the hood Sony has a lot going on. They’re market leader in CMOS image sensors, have a smart car in the pipeline, movie stuffs, music, high-end camera lenses, all kinds tech innovation…

These cats started out in Japan making electric rice cookers. I think as gamers, we view them parochially as video game mavericks first and are surprised when they talk anything else; gaming is a piece of their whole, though.

Did you pull the trigger on Astro? @Versez
Yes i bought it, havent played it yet, i have a big back log haha, i try to finish FF VII rebirth first, what are you playing ?

I saw that Resident evil 4 was at a very attractive price too right now on the pstore.

Has Sony even announced a game at CES. I always thought that was for hardware. I think the PSVR2 was the closest we ever got.
I thought they would had announced special things for the ps5 pro...at least..i still cannot figure to buy it, if it would had a disc drive and a stand included would had been a good idea..at that price.

Imo if you’re on the fence about it just don’t. It’s not that huge a difference and I was perfectly fine with my base ps5. Going from the base ps4 to the pro was different because everything in the UI got faster and it was painfully slow on the base model. That was a mandatory upgrade imo.

If someone was getting a new ps5 I’d tell them to go ahead and just pay the extra money for the pro. Trading in your ps5 is different though. I just didn’t care about the money and I’ll always pay for a bump in performance.

That’s what I’ve heard … I remember back then the jump from the ps4 to pro was massive … now it seems the difference et largely based on your tv , of course a good 4K / oled tv would make a good difference too.

There's a lot of different opinions floating around. I've also heard people say that PS5 to PS5 Pro was a bigger leap than PS4 to PS4 Pro. I think it comes down to what games people are playing. Rebirth absolutely is a huge jump but that's mainly because it was messed up to begin with. I think what's really going to make it a good purchase for me personally is future proofing it until the end of PS5's life cycle. Monster Hunter Wilds ran terribly in the beta and a Pro version's already been confirmed. A game that people dump hundreds of hours into it is probably well worth the price difference between base and Pro. Yeah so for me it's the fact that over the next four years ever major AAA game will have a Pro version that upscales to 4k 60 FPS with PSSR might pay off.

Best thing you could do buy a PS5 Pro if you already don't own a PS5 or if you do have a PS5 go through the list of games you're interested in purchasing and if nearly all of them have Pro modes then it may be worth trading in.

So I downloaded and played Suicide Squad.

That's something I definitely did.

Question, how come everyone can fly? I thought Suicide Squad was more about street level/black ops missions.

@Law Talkin’ Guy how's the hunt for PS5 Disc drive going? Just saw a single on at my local Walmart for the first time. Maybe they starting to send more out.

I have not ever come across any in the wild but according to GameStop’s website they had one in stock at the one in a town about 20 minutes south of Edmonton yesterday but when I looked again today it said it was gone, but that there’s one at the GameStop in another town about 10 minutes north of Edmonton. So I’ll check the availability this weekend and depending on how it’s looking may make the trek.

I was going to hold off buying a PS5 till my 40th birthday in May, but I realized tonight that apparently video game consoles are included in the GST (Canadian sales tax) “vacation” that is in place till February 16th, so maybe I’ll try to pick one up before then in order to save my sale $50.

Scratch the above, I managed to find a disc drive yesterday while out doing errands with my son so I bought it.

I’ve got the most high stakes hearing of my career coming up on January 21 and 22 so I’ll wait until it’s done and then I’ll go pick up a Pro I think.

On behalf of Sherdog we need to intervene and ask you to re evaluate your priorities sir.

When you look back 10 years from now, what do you think will matter more? Winning that case, or spending an entire weekend grinding and completing repetitive tasks in a ps5 game to increase your trophy count?
