Did you have to do any reformatting or anything or was it as easy as simply physically swapping them and everything previously stored on it was still there and ready to go as though you were still using your old PS5?

You can take an SSD out of the slot in the standard / slim M2 slot and put it in the Pro's slot with out deleting or reformatting anything just plug and play

Got my pro today at gamestop. Busy day ahead of me today and I'm on call so god only know when I will get a real chance to try it out. I just got it all setup and started downloading everything I want to try.

Literally as easy as taking it out and putting it back in the new one.

Spent some time with it today. Played Demon’s Souls, Horizon Remaster, Spider-Man 2. All of them have some pretty stunning application.

It’s exactly as advertised. It plays games at a high frame rate with exceedingly high fidelity. It feels like what you’re getting is what the developers envisioned and honestly kind of feels like this is how this generation should have been from the start. Maybe unrealistic for the price entry but there’s been too many compromises and the Pro is definitely uncompromising.

Part of the reason I went the Pro route is to get higher end PC performance and not be stuck with the butchered ports that plague the PC world now. If developers are programming specifically for this thing I think we’re going to see some pretty incredible stuff.

Got to play a bit over the weekend and the pro has just been great. DD2 looks amazing on the pro and I'm having a great time with the game in general. Demon Souls looks great wish I could play it but I just never really liked Demon Souls overall.

I’ve been most impressed by FF Rebirth, Stellar Blade, and Forbidden West so far. FF Rebirth is so much better to play now, I’m actually glad I held off on it. I’m at Cosmo Canyon still at 50 hours. Stellar Blade has Nier Automata crossover DLC this month so that will be another one I’ll play again. Forbidden west i just love to fly around and be stunned by the beauty. Somehow it’s even more gorgeous. Everything is so clean and the visuals really pop much more on the pro. I got the platinum already so might just goof around and get a few other burning shores trophies I missed. I think death stranding 2 had console a must buy now. Decima engine is gorgeous and on the pro it might be the best looking game of all time. 700 dollars well spent imo. Especially considering we’ve got at least four years left and a bunch of new games coming up. Also hearing this console might get hit with tariffs so if you’re on the fence maybe just get one if you have the money

Apparently Trump tried to hit consoles with tariffs last time to but they were permanently placed on hold after MS, Sony, and Nintendo complained.

I still have burning shores to play fresh which I'll probably do next. I was very close to being pulled back into TLOU2 just from playing the intro but I pulled myself away to go back to DD2. I really want to play Stellar Blade eventually also.

So this weekend I finally decided to fix my worst controller for stick drift. I purchased the supplies
and did the damn thing. I am new to soldering stuff like this. Boy it was a pain. 14 solder
points that have to be cleaned out. New potentiometer resoldered. Way too much time doing it.
It actually worked and the drift is gone. I am not sure it was worth that much time.
I have the part to do the second controller.

Downside is I messed up one of the ribbon cables going to the controller speak so it does not have sound.
I have taken it apart 3 or 4 times before that and not damaged any cables, just trying to clean around the joystick.

Did either of you buy the stand to go with your Pro? If not, what orientation do you keep them, vertical or horizontal. Just curious whether or not a stand is actually necessary or not. I’m thinking I might buy a pro sometime in January or February, but I don’t like being nickled and dimed for the disc drive as it is, let alone the friggin stand. If I can get by without one that would be ideal. Save my $30 Canadian, lol.

Yeah, it’s in my pic I posted. Doesn’t feel absolutely necessary but I like the way it looks and it definitely adds stability with how tall and thin it is.

There is an alternative stand I've seen suggested a few times that costs a fraction of the cost, I'll find the link out when i get chance

No I don't even use those little plastic legs. I just set it down. I've never been comfortable with a console standing up. I did this with my other two PS5s as well the original digital and the slim digital.
