Hope this pays off. Sony investing in China and India could be absolutely massive considering they have a combined 2.9 billion people. Honestly shocked that Microsoft keeps going for Japan instead and not these two giants.
They're in third for a reason. Not wanting to condemn but, really; they muscle their way through the crowd up to the bar and once there, don't know what to order.

Good point. Something else to consider is that company culture is hard to change. Even if Sony can help restructure and improve internal controls, it's a huge uphill battle.

Funnily enough Genshin Impact went to MS for funding and MS declined. Genshin went on to a be a billion dollars revenue producer. It was such a fuck up that MS invested in a team to look at other Chinese devs.

Yea they also turned that down.

Having had time for it to settle, I find the new ratings system crap. Bad aesthetic aside, it has no meaning.

Last night I looked up some 15 games to test and see: 4.43, 4.16, 4.71, 4.02, 4.36... out of 5 stars. Virtually every game in-store falls on this 4 spectrum and it offers no value to me as a peruser anyway. Lowest game I've seen is 3.91 and that was widely mocked UFC 5 from E(at)A(ss). From a UX standpoint, taking rating values to the hundredths is also cognitive overload.

Roll back the new ratings system from game product pages, IMO. Don't need it. Don't want it.

Anyone like it? Let me hear thoughts.

Well I thought it was a good idea but didn't realize that everything was a 4 until you just mentioned it now. I've been bouncing around from game to game trying to find something that will catch my interest and now that you mention it everything I saw was rated 4 and up.

I like, even love, the idea too. But it looks awkward plus doesn’t help, IMO. So double L. Honestly, show me subreddit links about your game instead; let me see real stuff. 4-star everything or thereabouts is doo-doo and a self-defeating system of 1-5. And ditch the decimals.

Honestly these days I just hop on steam and see what people are saying. It seems to be the most reliable for me. It has it's issues (if the game has a bad PC port) but otherwise I can get a good idea of what people think of the game. I don't want to just see scores I like to see what people are saying about it and why they loved it or hated it. Every other review system just doesn't seem as reliable to me.

Might try that. Thanks. I like Reddit for game scoops in general but as a rule you have to wade through the site’s endemic cynicism (of everything) and numerous know-it-all pedants to find constructive, helpful takes on games.

They wanted to work on their own IP's instead, and this is the time when they only had 5 or so studios give or take

They didn't want to set up one of their studios to develop the game. They wanted the game already developed and just buy the company that makes it. lol.

I didn’t realize there were rating systems lol

It just got added recently. I was pretty excited about it but like Val said everything gets rated around a 4. It's new so maybe eventually once more games start getting rated and people start using it, it will get better.

I feel like I’m the only one within that demographic growing up that never got into these movies. I was always more into Godzilla and giant monsters over ghosts. I hope it’s awesome for the fans though, they deserve some joy after that all female led reboot
