Man, I've been reading the posts about the Series S and it just make me think of how screwed they are this gen. The next console refresh isn't until 2028..... they're stuck with this thing for 5 more years and the worst part is that 70% of owners have an S instead of an X meaning that they can't just ditch it.

Yea Sony learned a lot from the PS3. I don't know if it was the PS4 or PS5 but I know they even go to developers and ask them what they want to see or should do which is the best idea. The people who are going to be making software for your product should have the biggest input on what to do.

On the other side MS was warned several times that the RAM was to low and they didn't listen.

I just watching DF talk about the new motorsport and it's laughable. Start watching that from 4:00 mins. I don't know what the hell is going on over there at MS but they need to get their shit together. It's a preview build so maybe they'll get it worked out but this isn't something they should be sending to DF for previews.

Is it just me or does GT7 still look better? At least when it comes to the detail on the cars. I thought that the Forza open world game releases a year or two ago looked a lot better personally than this one that releases in a couple of weeks.

Not just you. GT7 cars are bar-raisers for the racer/sim category.

Foamstars beta starts today, no ps plus needed

Oh nice had no idea. I'm going to try this out tonight.

Not just you. This game was already delayed though and then on top of that has missing features that past games had and missing tracks. So seems like they are trying to rush this out the door.

I know there quite a few dads in here and I’ll be joining the club in March. Any gaming tips with a newborn? Lol.

I have my Steam Deck which should come in handy. Some good headphones to keep noise down. Thinking about the PS Portal as well and definitely picking up the Pulse earbuds.

Awesome man Congrats! Boy or girl?

This will depend on your child and home setup really. My daughter we created a small gated area like we did for my son. With my son he could play in there by himself and be fine so gaming like normal was no issue. My daughter she doesn't want to be left a lone in there. I don't need to play with her but I do need to sit in there with her. Having a deck or portal is just going to have her climbing all over me to get at it. My controller I literally have to hold over my head, let her give up, and then continue gaming like normal. The difference is I can bring the controller over my head and pretty much game like normal.

So while the deck and portal will be great at the hospital around your kids it will just be something they want to grab instead of their toys. So the best thing to do is just setup the closed gate near your TV and game like normal with your controller. This is all info for when they start being more active. The early months is pretty much all eating and sleeping.

Thanks, got a girl on the way!

Some solid advice, the area where I’m set up is pretty open so might not have much of an opportunity to wall off lol. Feels like the handhelds will come in handy for the early months, feedings and such.

Just expect to play way less honestly, it’s going to change everything but it’s still worth it and you’ll find the time as long as you prioritize it for yourself. I recommend not playing at all until everyone else is sleeping. I sacrifice sleep to play, not a lot but an hour or two on a couple of weekdays and Saturday night I get 3 or 4 hours in from like 10 to 1 or 2 am. I watch the baby most of the day and my wife takes over at night. Your wife has to agree to it too, without support it’s over imo. That’s why I put my work in so she can’t use it against me. I also preordered the PlayStation Portal from PS Direct but now other outlets put it up for preorder.

Nice man, Congrats! I had my daughter about 4 months ago. Finding time to game is relatively easy when they're so small but you'll find your time drastically decreasing as they grow older. My Son is 2 1/2 and he doesn't give me any time to game. The time I do get is during his naps and when he goes to bed.

Another small piece of advice, don't go crazy on the newest gadgets or gadgets in general. You'll find that you waste a lot of money on things that are expensive that you hardly ever use. Keep it simple and you'll be just as happy with less clutter.

Just came here to say congratulations

Congratulations

Yeah, fully expecting to say goodbye to a lot of game time in the next year. Thankful this didn’t happen in 2023 lol. Got a great partner and she understands we both need our time.

I might be thinking too much about prepping but I’m definitely decluttering before she gets here. The amount of stuff I have is out of hand right now.

Congratulations
Thanks, man!

PlayStation Portal seems to be selling out everywhere. It's not available in any stores in Japan and it's currently sold out on the US Amazon site.

I thought nobody wanted this thing? That's what the neckbeards on the internet told me.

Congratulations! As others have said, being a Dad definitely impedes on time for gaming, but it is worth it.

For me my gaming time is after the kids are in bed. Unfortunately, the older they get the later that is, as my kids are 8 and 6, so bedtime is after 9pm at this point, so I can really only get in game time from around 9:30pm onwards, and the older I get the less I have it in me to stay up late.
