Not yet. I’m very interested though; will be my first-ever foray into virtual and have been gaming for over three decades.

I want a VR experience in treed woods or a forested biome, ideally.

I’m not a sim guy either but these industrial sims like farming or trucking are crazy popular, iirc. Callisto is a big-production flop that’s gotten a number of updates and is something many will try but wouldn’t buy because of maligned launch. Not bad month, I mean to say, considering all the different strands of gamer DNA out there.

Callisto Protocol is a good game though… I don’t understand the internet’s obsession with hating this game. People act like it was a complete disaster. It was an 8 outta 10 kind of game. The graphics are gorgeous and the gameplay is pretty fun once you get a hang of it. It got criticized because people wrongly assumed it would play exactly like Dead Space simply because the creator was also behind this one. It never deserved this amount of hate. Plus there will likely be one more game announced today since that was a leak

I think Callisto is a pretty good release. Now I probably wont touch it because I'm a coward when it comes to horror games but still a recent AAA game.

I guess the reviews were better than I remember, but still not great (or even good). I dont have time play 6s and 7s.

Not a title on here but wish I would've gotten Evil West sooner, I waited for a price drop (price never dropped) and now it seems it's mostly available on digital and physical copies are tough to find.

I can understand that. I'm more interested in just trying it for myself. Reviews are great to get an idea about a game but there are some 6/7 rated games out there that to me are an 8.

Lol, Callisto is an excellent title, especially for October.
It's been patched up alot right? I enjoyed it enough when it was newly released so may give it another go now that its free.

Yeah they’ve done a lot of work to it post launch. I heard the DLC was pretty skippable but I played through it on launch and really enjoyed it, despite some of the issues.

Respect Jim Ryan’s decision. He’s been at the company for 30 years and did a lot of great things. PS5 is kicking major ass. Never understood the hate this man gets online. Is he the most charismatic fellow? No. Does he pretend to be a big gamer? No. Most importantly he delivered on making sure PlayStation brings the high quality games it’s known for, hopefully the new person they bring in keeps the brand going strong.

Whare are everyone's thoughts on the Jim Ryan era? Positives and negatives

+ Acquisitions of Insomniac, Bluepoint, and Housemarque. To me these are the three studios that resonate with me the most and I was so happy when I found out the news of each one being acquired.

+ PlayStation Plus changes. People have the memory of a goldfish, for all the complaints about the service let's not forget how bad it was just two years ago. The Essential titles for the most part have been pretty great but for me it's been the Extra titles that I've enjoyed the most. Premium is bit weak though at the moment.

+ Dealt with the challenges of a global pandemic remarkably well

+ Europe domination

- I'm disappointed to see a lack of first party Japanese games on the console. It's also a bit concerning that Microsoft seems to be cozying up with some studios over there. Sony needs to reestablish itself as the premier place for AAA Japanese titles. They are still in some way but in a landscape where the WRPG genre basically belongs to Microsoft they cannot give up pursuing that part of the market.

- Needs to be better communication on what's coming to the platform. As a PSVR2 owner I am still not sure how long they intend on supporting it with big AAA titles. Capcom has been carrying it so far and GT7. Yes there are plenty of other fun games but those have all been PCVR, MetaQuest, or PSVR1 ports.

- This last one isn't a huge deal but I wish we had more interviews with the man. If feels like we see Phil Spencer everywhere but Jim is nowhere to be seen most of the time. I get he's a busy guy but it really helps fans feel more connected to the brand when there's someone a bit more open to communicating on various news outlets and conventions.

Overall I think he did a great job in making money for the company and he had to deal with a lot of challenges that nobody saw coming. He left Sony in a good place but there's still a lot of improvements that can be made.

I'm not gonna miss him, interested to see how Totoki will run things in the meantime until the successor is hired.

I honestly could never remember his name. I kind of like that in my executives.
