I feel like it would have to be to an extent but I like DMC combat as well so I wouldn't mind that either. Everything I've seen so far looks great when it comes to combat. Just needs to feel great when I play it and we're good to go.

Are the guy who also plays The Legend of heroes series as well? I always forget who plays it. There's only like three of us I think. I know @Zer does but he's a few games behind last I heard from him about it. Just wondering if you plan to jump straight from FF16 to trails into reverie. I want to but not sure how burnt out I will be after FF16.
Probably will. Going to he a busy several weeks going from Diablo to 16 to Reverie.

Rollercoaster of emotions this morning.

Saw I have a department meeting scheduled at the showcase start time.

<31>

Realizing it’s a remote meeting and I won’t need to be in the office.

<DCWhoa>

*45 minutes into the department meeting Zoom call*

Dizzy’s Boss: “Dizzy, what are your thoughts on Johnson’s proposal?”

Dizzy: “Uh, well, uh. There’s a lot of nuances that uhhh…. Well you see, the TPS reports that we’ve been seeing on the Penske file suggest that… uhh, well I’ve heard that over at Vanderlei Industries they’ve tried a similar proposal but that it hasn’t gone so well. Yup.”

Dizzy’s Boss: “So you disagree with the proposal??”

Dizzy: “Uhh… Yes?”

email from Johnson “Dizzy what the hell is the matter with you? You just crossed the wrong VP!”

I know market consolidation isn't our ideal industry from a player perspective but the landscape is changing – adapt, or perish. Am I wrong? On 2023 strategy per President Totoki:

Sony is reportedly planning to bolster its PlayStation division further by acquiring more studios. Sony has been an on acquisition spree over the past two years, and it is seemingly looking for more studios to boost its position in the global gaming market.

There has been a visible move towards consolidation in the video game industry considering the high-profile acquisitions that were completed recently. For instance, Microsoft acquired ZeniMax and a number of other studios, with Sony following suit by acquiring 5 studios in 2021 alone. However, the Japanese tech giant’s most significant acquisition came in 2022 when Sony acquired Destiny 2 and former Halo developer Bungie for $3.6 billion. Now the conglomerate is looking to reinforce its position globally by allocating more funds for more such acquisitions.

Destiny 2's forthcoming Season of the Deep comes bearing Sony fruits with God of War, Horizon, Last of Us, and Tsushima armors. Jin armor looks sick:

Think SIE won't get as much of that as people would think, the original article from the FT references Sony's Image Sensor business and Entertainment sector as a whole getting that capital.

Think people see the word acquisition and go straight to game studios

I hate the consolidation but like you said adapt or perish.

This isn't to surprising honestly. Even if Sony wants to do more acquisitions in gaming they can only do so much with the strategy Playstation uses. They don't do quick and easy acquisitions. They tend to work with a studio for quite a bit before an acquisition is done. I think Bungie is the only one that didn't fit that formula and it honestly appears like Bungie is just doing their own thing with Playstation not being very hands on with them.

Yeah, read a couple articles on it and nothing gaming jumped out but threw it up as much a blanket Sony update than PS Studios. Something cool that not many know is Sony is actually the world market leader and innovator in CMOS image sensors.

Looking forward to trying to calm my newborn while I watch the showcase tomorrow, hopefully she just sleeps on me while I watch it on TV. Going to have it up on the phone too for a diaper change. Yeah, I'm kind of obsessed.

On Extra and Premium performing well since rollout per Ryan – 30% of base upgraded for 14M higher-tier subscription strength:

Have been very happy with Premium sub myself and will continue.

Benji on Sony forecast:

A lot of aggressive forecasting for the PlayStation Business coming from Sony. It's hard to doubt them anymore though after they just broke the all-time Q1 Record for Hardware Shipments.

A lot might make sense after tomorrow's showcase. I'm expecting a frankly crazy huge one.

LOL, this infamous Bloodborne PC port/PS5 4k60fps patch/PS5 remake/sequel fans have been waiting for since the reveal of Demon’s Souls Remake was first announced? I swear at this point if they ever announce any of them I won’t believe it.
