Brother, the sun comes up at 8am and goes down at 4:30pm these days. On cloudy days it's like it never even comes up almost. It just goes from dark to grey and back to dark again. Now, throw in scraping ice off your car to get ready for work in the dark with 30-50 mph winds from the open field across the road and yeah, it hits you, alright.Canadian winters probably hit differently.
To be fair, there are plenty of people living further north than me where winters are far colder and longer--I hate winters more than most in any part of the country, but in a way it almost would be easier to live where it freezes and stays frozen than here where the temperature is really variable on either side of freezing.
