They should listen to community, nobody asked for RoboCop, but any other character that belongs in Mortal Kombat is welcome for me. They will overprice this crap for sure, well im dissapointed. Will keep playing my Scorpion

ahaha dude they ask for damn 33£ or 40$ for shit story and 3 characters in next 6 months to be released? Price is really funny and they try to milk us.
As @The Clinch said, easy pass

Sindel’s probably in the coffin.

Before the recent announcement, MK11 was a firm 'pass' for me. Didn't plan on ever playing it.

But now, when the 'Complete' version comes out I will definitely be picking it up for $20.

*Cary Tagawa voicing Shang Tsung in a storyline for MK, rather than just as a DLC character with intro/outro dialogue.
*A story that goes beyond MK11's, which it really needed before the eventual reboot.
*All of the DLC characters look interesting, though not as interesting as MKXL's.

Criticism -
*Though I'm looking forward to seeing Robocop, I'm not sure he's a good fit for Mortal Kombat. He, essentially, is a talking tank so seeing him in a hyper-speed fighting game probably isn't going to feel right. (But then again, how is the Terminator character?) Also, it has been confirmed Peter Weller is voicing him, which sounds great, but unfortunately he doesn't. He's 72 years old, voicing a character he played in 1987 (filmed in '86). They should have hired a professional voice actor to do an immitation.

At some point, Netherrealm Studios should do a fighting game with exclusively licensed characters. Just look at all the wacky characters they've put into MK/DC games over the years -

Freddy Kreuger
Alien Xenomorph
Predator
Leatherface
Jason Voorhees
Hellboy
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Joker
Terminator
Spawn
Robocop

Throw in a few of the best characters from Injustice and Mortal Kombat, and that's a hell of a fighting game.

It'd be hilarious if they could make some kind of a coherent story with everyone in it, and filled with '80s/'90s movie tropes.

John Wick?

So Boon’s just living out his fantasies getting shit he’s a fan of into MK meanwhile the customers/fans foot the bill.

No, its marketing.

Hardcore MK fans have already bought the game and will probably buy this $40 expansion.

What Ed Boon is doing, just as with all the licensed characters, is grab the nostalgic gaming market - to buy both the game and DLC.

Its actually a brilliant form of viral marketing. Mortal Kombat and Robocop have been trending on twitter for hours.

Was going to mention that those on twitter probably aren't aware of who/what Robocop is, much less Peter Weller, but forgot about the 2014 movie. So most players will be looking up who the hell Peter Weller and Bruce Campbell are, if they even give a shit about the voices of the characters.

"In July 2019, Sam Raimi discussed the future of the Evil Dead franchise stating that he is "working on some ideas right now,” while expressing hopes that Bruce Campbell will change his mind about retiring the character, and return "for the original Evil Dead (storyline)." He expressed potential for a sequel to the 2013 film, stating: "I think you may see some action on the Evil Dead movie in the next six months." By October, Raimi announced at the New York Comic Con, that a new film is in development. Bruce Campbell will serve as a producer, and will not be the star of the film." - wonder if that has anything to do with the supposed contract dispute going on between NR and Campbell?

Maybe it's just me, but I don't play MK games for any of these filler characters and it blows ass that popular MK characters are left out of an MK game for 'guests'.

So.... characters have to appeal to everybody?

Hell, might as well put Harry Potter on the Mortal Kombat roster.

So every MK game must have the same roster of popular characters?

There's been 11 MK games, not counting the spin-offs, over 29 years. Some characters have had complete overhauls and redesigns to the point the only thing they have in common with their prior iterations is the color pallet, powers, and name. I bet the team is getting kinda bored doing the same characters over and over again.

Makes me wonder if Netherrealm could do a new MK game with an intro of killing off the entire roster, with the exception of five or six characters, and forming a story around those five or six and 30+ new characters.

Anyway, from what I gather from today's announcements, the only character that some MK fans really want to be brought back is Mileena. She has a cult following, though I never particularly cared for her beyond being Kitana's evil clone & nemesis.

MK roster is stacked to the heavens when you look at all of the characters you have to choose from. It’s bullshit that they’re including so many guest characters. I’m cool with one or two but they have a shit ton of fighters that haven’t seen a game since like 2007.

Also fuck Mileena. I am glad they’re finally putting Fujin in the game. I’ve been begging for him since MKX. They could show a lot of love to some of MK4s roster and also some of the later PlayStation games.

Speaking of MK4, I noticed in the twitter leaks they mentioned 'Kai' will be in the next set of DLC characters with John Wick.

I was like 'Kai? Wait... who again?' Yeah, this one character from MK4 that no one cared for then and no one cares for now, 23 years later, is being released in the final DLC pack for MK11.

Not a smart move, Ed Boon, unless he's Kai in name only and they give him an awesome overhaul for the modern era of MK.

He could most definitely be a rework. They already have the character and could take his moves and give him a new design. They did that with several characters including frost. I’d be excited to see what they do with him.
I’m more of a Reiko fan. Wish they’d give my boy a chance.

Agreed. I like Frost and Fujin looks sick. I'd like to see what they could do with someone like Nitara.

Gonna have to wait on a sale down the line I ain't paying $40 when I don't even touch the game as is. They do a good job with story modes but not worth the money, I don't care about more characters.
