If you can look past the point and click movement and turn based combat, 1 and 2 are fucking excellent games. 2 in particular, plot and dialogue etc completely blows anything Bethesda has developed, out of the water..
Agree that 1 & 2 are excellent and well worth replaying at this point. If you love X-Com and then Fallout 1 & 2 will be extremely fun. Love those types of games.
Disagree that those two games blow away all the Fallout and Elder Scroll games since. They are different games. I love wandering and exploring the open worlds of Fallout and Elder Scroll. There wasn't any of that in Fallout 2. Yes, it had sidequests, but it was linear for the most part.
However, the MMO versions of Fallout and Elder Scrolls are complete garbage. They are everything I don't want in a Fallout or Elder Scroll game.
Why couldn't they do a Co-op version of Skyrim or Fallout 3/4? Get rid of the current MMO bullshit. Borderlands Co-op was amazing for a reason and was also fun to play solo. Replaying Oblivian or Skyrim with a buddy would be ton's of fun.
When I want to play "Real" PvP, I load up Dark Souls.
Holy shit, it just keeps going. <45>
The first game I ever bought was Fallout 1 in 1997. It's my favorite franchise and I hated the fact that they took it to this direction.
BUT....
I'm so fucking bored that I will buy Fallout 76 and play the Wastelanders DLC next week. Who's doing the same?
Well, I'm glad I held out to buy this because I think they worked out a lot of the bugs. But I'm loving this so far. I've been playing it almost every day. All in all, the map is so big I feel like I don't even see a lot of other players... but I like that you can buy and sell from other players now. I rarely run into griefers and when I do, they're easily ignored.I won't buy it because I don't like the pvp premise... not to mention I'm anticipating a LOT of RDR2 online play in the future.. coupled with my hiding in the weeds for an AC Odyssey sale for when I need a break from Red Dead.
Rest assured though, If FO5 comes out, I'll be pre-ordering that shit.

There's a ton of content and I feel like you don't even need to have interaction with other players most of the time if you don't want to.
Also funny is that I haven't player RDR2 online much at all. I got tired of it fairly quickly after I finished the story content. The stuff they added in not only time consuming to attain, but fairly boring too.
Also, Wastelanders has been fun so far.
i just did and as a huge hater of what bethesda (die hard fallout fan since early 2000s) did with this game i've gotta say the wastelanders update is WELL WORTH the wait and purchase ($40)
Right out of the vault there are lively NPCs. One in particular is voice by Jason Fucking Mewes! The writing so far is lightyears above what I would expect. Honestly, so very happy with how the game is going at the moment. Worth buying for a friend to play with out IMO.
Yeah man, the game is fun. I'm glad I held out this long, while they were beta testing all year. If they released the game as Early Access, at a lower price point, and made Wastelanders their 1.0 release, their reception would be a lot stronger. I don't know if it would have been profitable for them though. I'm sure the suits at Bethesda weighed doing that.
I never played 76 without NPC's, so I can't imagine how awful that must have been, but I'm really enjoying my time with it so far.
I'm a fallout junkie, absolutely love the lore. Discovering info from former corporations like RobCo Industries, or Sunset Sarsaparilla, is what I love most. I'm glad to be back in this world!
I loved F1 and F2 back in the day, Black Isle Studios were the shit. That's why New Vegas is the best Fallout game yet, much of the old crew at Obsidian (at the time) worked on it, as I'm sure you know.Do you like the old Fallout games? If you like the lore and the world, I highly recommend Fallout Nevada and Fallout 1.5. Resurrection. They are both legit Fallout games to me even tho they are "F2 mods".
Outer Worlds has one of the best themes I've ever heard, it's pure magic. I only wish Chris Avallone was with them still.
I love New Vegas and Outer Worlds too.
Did you know Chris Avallone is working on (interactive) story of Dying Light 2. I really liked the gameplay of the first game so adding him and the rpg elements sounds awesome.
Yeah man, I'm super stoked for that. The team that did Dying Light was solid, I really liked the mechanics/world, but Avallone will give them some compelling quest lines. I'm loving what's been teased so far. Hopefully it's not too delayed with this CCP virus thing.
