I just get these weird feelings. I knew that BioWare was lying through their teeth about Anthem. "Everything you're about to see is real gameplay footage."

"Please believe us. This is awesome. We really mean it, it's amazing." Everyone I knew was going crazy about it, and all I could think about was how progressively worse that Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age Inq and ME Andro got.
yep. my feelings exactly. FromSoft is a reputable company and has never failed us...
but same could be said for CD Project Red. Really hope this isnt the case

CDPR's esteem and fame came from 1 game.

From's had 3-4 games release in the time that matched or exceeded TW3 in quality. I think From is not only one of the speedier developers in the industry, but one of three developers whose games are never worse than 'great'.

One thing Ive noticed. The trailers font, style and feel are so damn special. Bloodborne's trailers were magnificent, and Elden Ring matches and exceeds it. The first trailer is special, the sound design, compositions etc are all great. Great to see them in the leaked trailer.

It's gonna be the best game ever made. It has to be.

Since it leaked they should just release the full trailer in 4k now... With a release date.

Looks like a ps3 game. What utter shit. This is going to flop and when the cyberpunk dlc is released everyone will forget about dark souls 3.5

I think it goes without saying that this isn’t going to be exclusive to next gen and will be available on Xbox One and PS4 as the graphics don’t appear to hold a candle to Demon’s Souls remake.

I’ll wait to reserve judgment until I see something not filmed on a potato.

Maybe like 3 games currently out can hold a candle to DeS remake...and I dont know how you can say that without grainy footage from a trailer.

That footage is reportedly from a year old build, so today's version would look somewhat different.

Also Bluepoint didn't have to spend time rebuilding gameplay mechanics, AI, or world design for the DeS remake.

They basically backward engineered the original game (which is an impressive feat on its own) and spent the majority of the development time and funds focusing on graphics.

Has anyone ever played souls games for the graphics anyway?

Sadly because of how good Demon Soul's looks now people are comparing everything that comes out to it.

I can see it being closer to Dark Souls but i would like to see Bloodborne's evasion movements. Being able to do a more subtle sidestep looks better than having to always do a huge diving roll to avoid a right hook.

One of the things i like the most about Bloodborne is your method of dodging doesn't break the pace of the fight. I'm guessing it's because the combat is faster over all but it just looks better and it's refreshing to see you don't have to always do a dramatic dive to avoid minimal damage like in most other action games.
Agree with this.
I think the ability to sidestep vs diveroll should depend on your armor. IMO

Yeah but it’s not like they’ll have changed the games engine.

You vastly underestimate the time, manpower and money required to just switch to a new engine. Processes and work flows would need to be changed, adapting to a new engine would take too much time, customising the engine to suit the type of game the team would construct would take huge amounts of time and thus, money.

Starting a new engine from scratch took Kojima 5 years a $100 million bucks. Then he had to create the game which then took another few years and probably another damn $150+ million, and so Im not surprised Konami was damn pissed at the guy. MGSV released 7 years after MGS4...

Or you could look at CDPR, they tried to customise and upgrade their engine at the same time as developing the actual game and we know how that turned out.

There's a reason developers stick to the same engine for decades, like Bethesda and Activision. Besides people play From games for the game design, gameplay, atmosphere and world design.

The movement in Bloodborne is just so satisfying, so I agree.

Im not underestimating it. That’s why I said that regardless of the footage potentially being a year old the graphics are not going change much, because they wouldn’t switch engines.

I don’t know why everyone is having a hissy fit about my earlier comment about the graphics. All I said was this will not look as good as Demon’s Souls remake because it’s not going to be exclusive to next gen only, or using a different engine. That’s not a controversial statement, it’s a fact. This will look about as good as Dark Souls 3, and maybe for next gen they’ll throw in some ray tracing just for shits.

Youd be surprised at how much graphics and art direction can change in the final year.

TLOU II basically shits on its 2018/19 version, same for Cyberpunk etc...

Just wait on a trailer or a demo before judgement. It wont look DeSR amazing in the pure graphical department, but I dont think any of us care tbh.
