How are people hoping or expecting the combat function like? Dark Souls, Sekiro or Bloodborne?

I hope it plays closer to DS3, mechanics wise, with more movesets for weapons and spells.

I hope they give us BB healing style incentives for being aggressive, while taking notes from DS2 and Cinders regarding NG+ change ups.

For level design, I want tons more exploration. With this being more.open world-ish, I cant wait to see what they can do. I'm expecting pockets (cities/villages) of metroidvania-like adventures between open fields/mountains etc.. is there an open world game with those types of areas having tons of shortcuts and secrets?

I'd like to see them build on the Chalice system too, just far less repetitive.

I really hope this game is PS5/ next gen only.

It will probably be closer to DS3 but hopefully something new. I just want a big ass Norse hammer with hyperarmor on some attacks and a flamboyant sweeping moveset, sort of like Nioh's axe.

I can see it being closer to Dark Souls but i would like to see Bloodborne's evasion movements. Being able to do a more subtle sidestep looks better than having to always do a huge diving roll to avoid a right hook.

One of the things i like the most about Bloodborne is your method of dodging doesn't break the pace of the fight. I'm guessing it's because the combat is faster over all but it just looks better and it's refreshing to see you don't have to always do a dramatic dive to avoid minimal damage like in most other action games.

So it's like Skyrim mixed with Dark Souls

In the humble name of Greirat, one doesn't nudge Michelangelo to hurry up on this limb, that. Similarly, one should not disturb Leonardo when putting pen to paper, later stages of masterwork and outset alike. All in its time. Shame on youse palebloods. Carry on, Master Miyazaki. Carry on, good sir. To Yahar'gul with journos. By undying flame, we wait.
