I’m pretty sure that scrub still hasn’t beat Sekiro.

It's not even like I think they're bad games. They're very well made for the most part.

I just think their design is a bit tedious and the combat really isn't anywhere near as good as the souls aficionados think.

The amount of grinding feels almost like an MMO, except you're playing by yourself.

There’s little to no grinding if you know what you’re doing, unless you’re trying to unlock certain trophies/achievements. They’re dark and dangerous worlds so you need to approach new environments with caution. If you don’t alter your failed approaches or refuse to learn from your mistakes then yeah you’re gonna have a rough time. The games aren’t made to appeal to everyone so there’s no shame in moving on if you dislike them.

Agreed.
I have finished all 4 souls games and bloodborne without grinding.

grinding/farming doesnt help at all in souls games. Maybe only a trivial amount. When I first started playing this was my approach. failed miserably until I learned to git gud.
Its all about: making builds, timing, strategy, stamina management

I don’t agree with that. While overall skill is a lot more crucial than level/gear etc in the games, being a higher level with more HP and better gear makes a tremendous difference in giving a greater margin of error with which to survive encounters. With more HP you can afford to get hit a few more times, while being able to deal more damage allows you to handle crowd control if you find yourself in a situation where you’re being swarmed by several enemies.

But farming really makes a trivial difference, in my experience. and the game makes it difficult to farm, considering every time you feel. it takes more souls to level the next time. and you'll be stuck at a low level of soul yield per enemy if youre stuck in specific area. incentivizing you to progress the game

But farming can be for different purposes. You can souls not just for levelling up but also for buying sorceries and pyromancies, or you can farm titanite to level up your gear etc. all of which will make the game more manageable.

true, but spells still aren't that viable unless you can level your stats attunement/Faith/Intelligence

You can beat any of the Soulsborne games without leveling. And weapon upgrade mats aren't a grind either. They're usually naturally occurring throughout the game.

And you still couldn’t beat Sekiro lol

Not telling people what to do but if you don't like Sekiro, don't like Bloodborne, don't like Souls, and didn't like the look of Elden Ring... then why are you in this thread?

I know it's a crazy concept but i don't jump into threads for games i don't enjoy.

Preach, paleblood. Accounts will be bounced from discussion for 30d if it keeps up. Dipping in here so dismissively is disrespectful to both Diogenes and the ER IP.

Thanks. Although I respect criticism and think it’s important, I don’t get why people don’t want others to be excited for this game. This thread has been around since Elden ring was just a speculation based on rumors, and I’m excited to have everyone in this thread with us for the ride

Imma beat Demon's Souls, Sekiro and Bloodborne while waiting for this. That should give me the necessary qualifications for Elden Ring.
<BirdieOwn>

Well i'm 2/3 then but can't do Demon's Souls without a PS5... or do i borrow my brother's PS3 copy...

Now i have a decision to make.

Set this as my smartphone background not long after you'd shared it. Looks divine.
