What char class are you (or planning on) maining?

Tried all the classes now. Sorcerer and necromancer are by far best right from the start, you'll be blastin' from level 1 and it keeps that way. Sorcerer probably has the second best mobility and really good defensives too, and when things get hard you always have the hydra and run around option.
Rogue as melee was a blast because of all the movement skills that made it really fun and engaging to play, did not seem to require any legendary affixes to excel either.
Barbarian was slightly clunky though frenzy + upheaval did nice damage, nice mobility skills too. I had charge from a item that I put on the bars when I expected prolonged walking, something that there was a lot.
Druid was just boring, most of the time I was just auto attacking. But damn, when I got the affix that makes tornados seek nearby and ~50% faster generators enemies it just starts melting stuff. Am I going to count on getting that affix when it goes live in few months with vastly lower drop rates? Dont know.

Starting tip for retail: craft those potions that gives you thorns, nice boost for those early levels. Probably works for barbarian quite long if you spec for thorns.

I personally do not expect anything other than some small tuning and bug fixes before the release. Saw quite a few bugs but the bug report was disabled, lol.

I played rogue to level 20.

Combat is really fun and the build options seem cool. I don't really like all the MMO mechanics but they haven't been too annoying so far, only saw another player every now and then.

Not sure I need this day 1 though. Maybe I'll wait a bit, just gonna go for a chill playthrough without much end game anyway.

Didn't play long at all. Not sure what it is about Betas but I hate playing them knowing none of my progress means anything and I will have to repeat everything. Really takes the joy out of the experience. Played a bit of Sorc and it was fun but I'll probably go necro.

You and I are 100% on the same page it seems. I will get it as well, but I might wait til the fall to get it.. I mean, it releases in the summer and I don't expect to be gaming much around that time anyway. By the time I do get it there will most likely be some improvements.

All in on Rogue as well. I tried every class in D3 and while I enjoyed the Monk and Wizard, the Demon Hunter was my go to class. I loved zipping around the map, setting traps, sentries, and then blasting fools from a distance. I only got my Rogue to level 6 but I am hoping I'll have similar attack options- I already see that everyone has a dash-dodge, hopefully you can beef that up with the Rogue.

I ran two Rouges both to 25. In the first beta I was able to obtain a legendary bow & dagger + armor and the other my only legendaries came from a ring, a chest armor and a helm. There was a marked difference in clearing between the two. While you can excel without them, clearing levels and beating bosses without the legendaries took a more methodical and careful approach. It was definitely a lot more work.

What was more annoying than anything with the Rogue was the auto proximity targeting. You would Shadow Imbue using Dash and then turnaround for a Pen shot aiming at the pack only to be targeting someone you missed that didn't have the Imbue on them who was right next to you.

That said, Rouge is a really rewarding class that forces it's player to have precision, understand combo routes and utilize escape traits. It seems to me that Rogue has the highest skill ceiling with regards to combat.

My brother in law and I had a blast trying out the beta. I kept getting distracted with side missions, dungeons, and other stuff to where I didn't get a chance to follow the story line. The graphics and sounds (corps explosion detonating) where great. The play style is simple enough.

I was not a fan of the zone scaling to your level.

The item crafting will take some time for me to get used to.

Overall I'm happy with what was presented. I'm excited for the full game to launch June 6!

I feel the same way. I'll tinker around a little to get a feel for the game, but that's it. I've been staying off Last Epoch even though I really enjoyed what I played of it, so that I don't get burned out by losing 100+ hours of progress at launch.

<WhatIsThis>

dammit, this won't even be entertaining to make fun of. it's going to be like mocking a make-a-wish kid or something.
The fans are just going to repeat that the end game is coming from the live service content.

As I suspected from the start this game isn't going to be worth paying full price at launch.

that video showcased a complete disaster. i never looked into d4 elsewhere (eg, never checked gaming/diablo subreddits, news), so i don't know if this is truly under the radar, but ouch. that was a staggering lack of endgame content/lazy trees, failing to learn from diablow 3.

but again, this is also from the perspective of a more hc gamer, i guess. the casuals will probably love this shit.

speaking of, it's the guy who seemingly buys every game and loves all remakes/remasters/cash grabs. lolz. you're right on cue!
We can’t all be as hardcore as you, bud.
