Well I finally finished the storyline and accidentally did the capstone dungeon after not paying attention and seeing what the dungeon in the capital city looked like. It was actually super easy.

So at 56 I was doing world tier 3 and again, easy content. I have died once in any of the 15 or so nightmare dungeons that I have done (fucking butcher in my first nightmare dungeon in WT3)

So... now I'm lvl 60, face rolling all the content at WT3 that I've seen... and I can't do the next capstone dungeon till lvl 70? WTF? This is just going to be a boring, pointless grind for the next 10 levels. Thanks Blizzard :-(

Anyone here start a Droid? Rolled one for my first character. Going Wind. Anyone have any luck with it late game what's the meta?

I am at level 47 and haven't run into the Butcher at all...

Finished Act IV, did a few aspect dungeons for my Rogue and am looking to upgrade my gear but currently do not have enough veiled crystals. I've been running a lot of the same armor since I was in level 35 or so just because of the bonuses they carry but I am at the point where I would like stronger armor.

Going to try to beat the rest of the campaign now- I have heard veiled crystals/rare gear is much more common in the nightmare dungeons.

???

you should be able to run the next capstone. There’s no lvl restriction on any of them. It’s just a general recommended lv of above 62+ or so cause that capstone is a lot harder without help. The only requirement you had was to beat the campaign and finish the world tree storyline.

salvage all the legendaries you do not need for your build. Veiled crystals are mainly from your salvaged legendaries and pretty easy to acquire. Focus on one build and scrap everything else. You will get plenty of legendaries once you start tackling endgame content so you can switch around then. There is a tab in your inventory that shows you how to get each salvaged or material you need.

Thanks

I actually got somewhat fortunate and got some gear recently that compliments my build well.

Right now my Rogue has some great DPS out put but I feel like the real benefit is how quickly I can move and build up health + armor. I'm basically difficult to kill.

i encountered a world boss in the helltide rifts earlier and i was just all by myself at first and chipping away at its health, but then it kinda glitched out and get stuck into a big boulder where it wouldnt move or do anything at all so long as i keep hitting it with lunging strike. it wouldnt react at all

the moment i hit it with whirlwind it would start moving and attacking again, but then i kited it back to the rock formation and got it to glitch out and get stuck in the rock again so i just sat there holding down lunging strike for a good 5 minutes. i wittled it down to around a third of its health and then 2 random players came along and melted him down and ruined my fun.

i could have handled the fight on my own but the way it glitched out i found absolutely hilarious so i wanted to cheese it just for some lolz. what was supposed to be a challenging boss encounter became trivialized, and if you poke a world boss with a stick enough times it will die. big bad world boss from the deepest depths of hell gets hamstringed by a rock and couldn't overcome the extreme challenge of the world map design. gg blizzard.

i would have had no qualms at all about poking the thing with a tree branch until it met its demise, even though i could have taken it down way faster just by actually fighting the damn thing.

i just found it to be rather amusing and hilarious the way it bugged out on me. i would have stood there poking the damn thing for hours if i could. i'm pretty sure thats not how the encounter was supposed to go down lol.

Don't worry you will have his cleaver as an optional trophy for your steed in no time

yeah i got that a while ago off of killing him. some kind of charm or something that hangs off the side of my horse

i also got the butchers cleaver unique axe the other day. came from a random enemy and not the butcher though.

What level do you need to be to get a horse? I've seen the stable but there's nothing available

cool. First time I encountered it was with another random player who was just as weak as I was. We messaged each other wondering whether it was worth killing it. We decided to kill it to find out so spend 10-12 mins continually attacking. It didn’t drop anything good gear wise so we were both super disappointed but at least we got to find out. Later on I found it he’s worth killing because he drops a solid amount of material for upgrading. Now when I see him I kill him but I am a lot stronger..

Level 60 and got World Tier 4. Time for Ancestral stuff

ya i got 2 forgotten souls and some trash legendary

i keep burning through those trying to roll a +2 challenging shout enchantment onto my chest and striking out. its costing over 1.3 million gold each time now, which will surely keep going up. i think im just gonna give up on it but i still havent been able to get a chest to drop with +2 challenging shout with some other affixes that i need.

the gear upgrades are definately coming in alot slower now. i got to 72 today and i'm calling it a night.

Beat Campaign, Capstone Dungeon, unlocked WT3.

Still no sign of Butcher.

Anyway, here's hoping they make gems more useful at some point. in D3 I remember grinding rifts just to be able to upgrade legendary gems- it was a lot of fun.

What is the deal with "sacred" rares?

They are basically better than just the regular rares. Also once you hit wt4 you get Ancestral rares. Once I got to wt3 I switched up all of my gear once I found something similar or better than what I had. Did the same once I got to wt4. Now that you are in wt3 will have a chance to get unique items that only drop in wt3 then some that will only drop on wt4

I wish there was a way to gauge enemy abilities or stats before fighting them. I just want to play HC mode, but I don't want to have to master the game before I play it. I just want to play carefully, rather than die in a room I can't leave, because I didn't know the stats on something.

Give it a try! World tear 1 is very forgiving. You'll have lots of fun on those close calls you'll undoubtedly have.

Finally finished the main campaign.

+ I enjoyed the story though I wouldn't mind more campaign quests at the cost of side quests.
+ Open world map layout is great, definitely an improvement compare to before with one tiny entrance and one tiny exit between areas.
+ The art and design look fantastic.
+ Potion mechanic is a good compromise between D2 and D3.

- At this price, I feel like it should be a complete game, yet it feels like the story is already being set up for expansion.
- Story could have used more Lilith and Inarius
- Similar to previous point, are Sets and NPC follower scrapped or coming later?
- Need more variation of events. The following spirit one sucks.
I liked the story a lot. I think it’s actually the best Diablo story by a lot. Lilith is a great villain and I hope she makes a return appearance. You’re right she was not in the game nearly enough.

I actually think they missed a huge opportunity. They could have had a 3 way choice, side with Inarius, side with Lilith, or the way the game actually ended.. Then it could have effected the post campaign world and put people into factions or something. I would have sided with Lilith. The whole end game quest I was like dooooo iiiiit

Glad I'm not the only one playing through and thinking... I know she's the main villain and all but she does make some really compelling arguments.

I'd probably have picked to side with her too.
