Will the PL expansion prove a do-over for the title after widely maligned launch?

God I hope they continue the series.

Already in production.

I'm the type of RPG player that does their fair share of exploring but I'm not the type that does a lot of investigating or reading text documents.

So, little did I know this supposed Cyberpsycho mission has like four endings, when I've only got one the few times I played through it.

For those who play on PC with mods, I envy you. The first mods featured in this video bring in the ability for enemies to call backup like gang members.

Really hope Orion has something like this as a part of expanding on gang warfare.

I'm kind of itching for a gaming PC.

Mods, not just on Cyberpunk but on a lot of titles, seem to be a must.

I'd love to play Cyberpunk and Skyrim on co-op, play expansions on Stardew Valley etc...

New update is about to be released, nothing significant added.

I upgraded my PC with an rtx4090 to try to get the photorealism that they show in these videos. It's actually really difficult and it never looks as good as these videos. That being said some of the mods can really improve things.

This is the thing... Why bother with the vast majority of these?

Last time I played the game I tried using the metro... once.
It was like 'oh cool it's nice they added this because it was in the original trailer' and I proceeded to never use it again.
The fast-travel locations already serve that purpose.

If they were planning on implementing all of these into Orion on Day1 I'd understand, but Orion is in a completely different engine... UE5... as opposed to CP2077's Red Engine.

What shocks me is 4.5 years later they still haven't added NewGame+ or ConsoleMods, which is #1 & #2 what everybody wants.

The new game+ is really strange to me. Did they ever give any sort of reasoning for why it's not in the game?

Yeah, they said it wouldn't make sense with the story -cutscenes if V has advanced weaponry.

But that's just an excuse.

Remember the First Act's 'Whole Foods' mission to get the spider-machine from Maelstrom? If you go in without a pistol in your inventory one magically appears you hold it up to their leader's head.

In other words, yes some logical compromises would have to be made in NewGame+, but they're small compromises that are easily made.

What's really frustrating is there's been PC mods for NewGame+ for years, and they're quite extensive with numerous options. Like this video goes into detail about, and gives a more detailed retort to CDPR's excuses why NG+ has yet to be included in an update.

Wow that is a horrible excuse. Who cares about the story making sense in a new game+ run. At worst just add a disclaimer that the game isn't setup for new game+ and the plot and other things might not make sense during this run or something like that.

In fairness to CDPR the video gives the word-for-word explanation, around halfway through.

Update looked shit, so I deleted the game.

I have a save file for it though, so if anything better comes out, I'll reinstall.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 next.

Been playing through Phantom Liberty for the 5th time and I did a few things different on this playthrough.

I 'skipped to Phantom Liberty' and I don't recommend it. You start on Level 15 and all your cyberware and stats are all junk.
It does give you Smartlink so I experimented with Smart Weapons like Skippy and some other legendary SMG that sets enemies on fire... and as I suspected they're neither efficient or fun.

As soon as I could, on the way to 'save the president' I took a detour to pick up The Rook, and I highly recommend it. The most efficient pistol in the game. It's practically a silenced SMG with more damage-per-shit and with a 30-round clip.

After beating the Chimera, and I'm still in awe of that boss fight, I made the explosive rounds mod and attached it to this free legendary LMG.

BTW the video says you need a STG 10 level, but for me it was 7.

Of the two main weapons I've been using The Rook is better. I had fun with the LMG for a while but I wasn't leveled into using LMGs and the reload time is a big pain.

I eventually put the Explosive Rounds Mod onto an SMG and I mostly use it while driving.

Currently Level30 and halfway though PL.

I've been using the Rook. Time slow down with it being silenced and fast crouching you're essentially half your size sprinting just wasting fools hitting weak spots before they even know what's happening
Thanks for telling me about The Rook.
See my post above of my impressions of it.

Finished PL last night,
the "Betray Songbird' route,
and now playing through PL for the 5th time the story still slaps.

That's what separates game stories from TV&movie stories.
Quality game stories should still be viewed as excellent after multiple playthroughs.
Its acceptable for TV/Movies stories to be viewed as 'good/great' upon first viewing and 'meh' after watching multiple times.

For example... Top Gun Maverick & F1... the two last movies I saw in IMAX, I thoroughly enjoyed watching. But I can tell the stories are very generic and I wouldn't enjoy watching them multiple times.

By the way, I played through 2/3rds of the finale and looking for the Erberus schematics before I realized I already went past it because a door required a 20 Technical Skill. I had 15.
I had to reload an old save and play a few hours of the main game to get my Technical Skill up to 20 and restart the finale.

Erberus is the best SMG in the game, and some consider to be the best weapon in the game, but its a royal bitch to get.

Also, SMGs may be the best weapon class in the game because with cyberware and weapon-attachments you can achieve 100% Recoil Reduction.
SMGs have the highest fire-rate in the game, and with no recoil they become lazers of destruction.

I finally got to play Cyberpunk 2077 again more than a year after my 2nd playthrough. The Projekt Red loader couldn't load properly after I reinstalled the game last year but when I checked today apparently it was fixed.

What can I do with Cyberpunk after completing most of the objectives? I'm kind of overpowered right now because every shootout is a breeze. Haven't tried the Liberty expansion yet.

Trying to explore the map. I tried to cross the southernmost tip in my first playthrough.

I'm just now past the...prologue, I guess. This shit is pretty epic. Gotta say, whatever issues it may have had at launch, they really did a hell of a job at cleaning it up. Very smooth, and haven't seen even one little glitch.

The scope of the game is incredible. I sometimes forget that it's an open world game, when you're in some of these gigantic interiors, and it's all connected. No loading screens to enter a building(at least the ones I've been in so far). It's all going on at the same time. On a pure technical level, it's unmatched. Rockstar better have been taking notes.

I'm in my current run that I play on and off and on, I'm doing every police scanner thing. They're mostly simple little dust ups, but occasionally you get a decent little quest/loot out of them. Did you do every gig?

If I'm reading correctly, you haven't played Phantom Liberty before? If that's the case, do that asap. The main storyline is pretty incredible, and you'll get more gigs with Mr Hands.

You're so lucky to be doing your first playthrough now. The 2.0 overhaul and Phantom Liberty were game changers. Not only is it running really well now, they've added a bunch of QOL improvements/updates since then that were previously made by modders.

I'm envious, have fun!
