Multiplat Official Battlefield 6 Disc **WAR BEGINS

And how do you reload when in a Bradley? Do you have to fire the gun empty first? Previous bfs you just hit reload. In this game hitting x makes you exit the vehicle.

If it's like 2042, it works off cool downs.

so far it sucks. The menus still suck. The progression awards at the end of the match are seizure inducing. Driving the tanks is awful. It's like they broke things that didn't need fixing. The feedback from the game just seems lifeless.
I'm having fun. Figured out my CPU issue and put in a couple rounds. It takes time for me to get a feel and dial in all the controls. So far I'm noticing a lot of audio glitches in the menus. Painful pops when changing load out after spawning is when I noticed it first.

Been watching Shroud and others play. Seems like everyone is having a blast. Lots of shenanigans.

Concurrent players apparently orbited 750K in maiden 30m. Amazing stuff and broke some records in the process.

One map nicknamed Dumbo after the real-life NYC locale it's adapted from seems like an early fan fave depending on the mode.

Shottie strength seemed to carry over from beta. I think as long as DMG falloff is managed (not sure if BF has choke mechanics to toggle), 1-2HKO is within reason. I remember Dragon Breath rounds on Shipment in Duty being a pest, though. Tough WPN class across titles to get right. We struggle with seasonal shottie ups and down much the same in Apex.

Hesitant to buy. I'm still living on the the memories of Bad Company 2 so my standards are huge (maybe unrealistic too).

Reviews seem to indicate a nice return to older feel, but major complaints are the embarrassingly small maps (really?) and floaty feel to everything. I can live with the floaty....I cannot live with maps that force gameplay style to COD.

Buy now or hold off until some patches, updates, new maps?

Also, are we looking at shitty, tacky costuming and customization in MP? Or are they keeping it all real military themed? I can't be playing a game like this against some rainbow clad fruitcakes with decaled weapons.

I have a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and game runs smooth as butter but gets hot as an oven, very CPU intensive
I have a minisforum 795se, updating the bios was annoying but once I got that done I was able to get the CPU up to where it should have been. Out of the box I think it was capping me at 45w. I think I almost doubled that. Went from CPU fps of 30-50 to a solid 120+

I'd hold off for maybe the first sale. I don't think I've played every map yet but they do seem smaller than bf4 and way smaller than 2042. I hope they give us some good vehicle combat maps. I had a good tank run but mostly from peeking and scoot and shoot against infantry.

Everyone seems to be liking this so far. Downloading now.

Game is fun but have some gripes.

- Loadouts bug constantly, I can edit them on the main menu and things NEVER save.

- Hit detection can be off and ill miss single shots with a sniper rifle zoomed into center mass, it makes no sense at all.

- Unlocks take FOREVER, and some of the requirements are downright laughable. Two of my next unlock requirements:

- get 30 headshot kills on the same map. Getting 30 kills with a sniper rifle is an ordeal. Getting 30 HEADSHOTS? Who the f**k though that is a reasonable amount?

- Get 50 headshots over 150y. Things are so cramped this is a serious pain in the ass, you have to just be in the middle of nowhere aimed at points and hope you are far enough and hope your kills are headshots, ive had a ton in the 140's and a few over 200 but its a serious pain and tedious. I only have 10/50 and its very slow going.

Did anyone get the Twitch drops? Maybe I'm an idiot but wtf is the weapon package supposed to be? A skin?

So depressed I can't swan dive head first into this.

Glad to hear it isn't a failure.

Its "ok" the open weapons thing is fucking stupid and the maps suck.

Gameplay is good but needs some new maps and tweaks.

UI is literally the worst I have ever seen in any game ever.

Agreed with literally everything you just said.

I do, however, highly recommend giving "Escalation" mode a shot. It's a mode that has gotten very little attention, but it's basically like the best of Conquest and Breakthrough in a single mode. You play on a Conquest-sized map, and as the round progresses the team who holds the most flags earns 'points,' and the first team to 3 points wins. Each time a point is awarded to a team, an objective is removed from the map and so the number of objectives becomes smaller and smaller, leading to more and more intense fighting. What's awesome though is that the play area itself remains large and open ala Conquest. And so you get the freedom of Conquest with the intensity of Breakthrough (especially late in the game), minus Conquest's nonsensical 'ring-around-the-rosies' progression and Breakthrough's overly linear, meatgrinder-y nature.

Here's a guide on it from DICE themselves (why this isn't available somewhere on the main menu is beyond me; Escalation doesn't even get its own '101' section in the Training Grounds menu):
