Multiplat Official Battlefield 6 Disc **WAR BEGINS

Played a few hours and came away underwhelmed. The maps during the beta are terrible. Too small. Barely any vehicles. The limited gadget assortment was uninteresting. It was basically TDM.

The fact that I never saw a large scale combined arms map tells me alot. They also could have accelerated xp gain so I could try out attachments. I only got to level 9.

I got into a vehicle as driver exactly one time. But all the maps are narrow urban combat and I got killed almost instantly. No huge tank battles, no trying to fight off helos. No nothing.

No splash damage on RPGs. Barely any on grenade launchers. TTD is too fast.

And there was no showpiece like the huge skyscraper in bf4 or the zeppelin in bf1.

Firmly wait and see at this point.

And for all the hate 2042 got, the xb1 version with 32v32 was a hoot. The maps were great and it felt like bf. The 64v64 version was a diaster.

Yea large scale combat arms maps were what made BF for me back in day

Like even in bad company 1 maps were huge, you had to jump in a car or walk 15 minutes to get in action, shit i remember car getting flipped over and cursing life since next spot for assaulting was far away lol

Now i see basically reskinned cod

Reinstalled 2042 to play around a bit. There are some post-beta rewards to unlock before BF6 launch but they’re all pretty mid, TBH. Just wanting to have some fun low-crawling about and sniping.

Will be watching launch to see map situation (bigger = better, strategic offensives = better). The smaller maps + visual clutter made for a hot/cold beta experience for me. If there were a stat tracker for average lifespan of spawn, mine would have been close to zero. No fun.

Beautiful game. Excited to see BR map with the golf resort and streets of Los Angeles. Sounds fun.

After hearing from chubz on closed versus open class weapons and thinking on it, I have a stronger opinion now that closed classes fall more in line with the DNA of Battlefield play and what I idealise my BF6 experience to be.

Played the beta over the weekend , it was descent and fun, feels like COD in ways. Haven't been that much in COD for a few years, I miss real tactical shooters like Socom. The rainbow 6's don't do it for me. Played a game that was called Americas Army 4 for a few years cheaply made but was fun with clan wars and tournys .

I'll still buy it to play but doubt I spend a lot of time on it, I just play Smite generally when I turn on the PS5

EA/Dice is giving everyone 47 days to complete the 2042 event pass (on a new volcanic Japanese map – yes, it's great) and get the free BF6 rewards.

First offer is a sidearm vanity for BF6's Raging Hunter, which is a .44 Magnum revolver and what everyone should recognise from Eastwood's Dirty Harry.

Also, the new Lynx sniper is pretty fun but more of a vehicular dematerialiser than stick and move menacer, so big DMG while making you a big target. Really have only played the SWS in 2042 so this is my first time changing my playstyle up for the WPN class.

Agree. I have no idea why they are even entertaining open weapons.

Weapon skin sales on their digital storefront. Game mode meant to drive the majority of players and long term revenue Firestorm will be using open weapon usage.

Big thanks from Battlefield team for everyone who took part in beta – dawgs included, no doubt:

Almost none because there were almost no vehicles in the beta.

All this post beta talk of TWO large maps is still disconcerting. It's as if battlefield was an afterthought for the developers of battlefield.

Time will tell it guess.

Large, combined arms maps are definitely going to be the exception rather than the norm in the base game. The official map lineup pretty much confirms that only 3 of the 9 maps will be truly large (Firestorm, Murak, and--I'm assuming--Sobek).

It's definitely disappointing that they chose to go in that direction, but I get the sense they really want to try and steal as many players away from Call of Duty as possible this time around.

Everyone's eyes are on launch maps after a widely positive beta reception and with FPS cats never shy to vocalise wants, EA/DICE (read: Battlefield Studios) seem as feedback-reactive as ever.

I have to think over time this game is going to have heaps on offer from maps to modes and be something you can fire up for 30m here, there or main and session daily: whatever you want.

An like that, my already limited amount of interest in this game shrank to zero:

We look forward then to not seeing you ITT again where your contribution as with every other title in gaming is to neg it.

2042's subreddit was nearly locked with how badly the game was received. Yet you purchased it, played it and endorsed 2042 here post launch. Only offering limited criticism weeks after the community already turned on it. You even posted Dr Disrespect content to promote the game, lol.

This is just continuation of your milk toast takes.

Maybe he liked the game?

WTF does "for a while" mean tho?

By the end of this decade EA wants Battlefield to mimic Call of Duty. That means yearly full retail releases that feed into the free to play BR version. With that comes certain Fortnitification cosmetic monetization practices.
