Official Apex Legends Discussion w/ Gamertag List

If there is one upside to being a dickhead and smurfing, it's hearing how excited people get about their first win.
 
Nobody has posted in a few days, but I'm gonna go ahead with this excitement full-tilt.

Instead of posting a ton of different posts here, I'm gonna have one post updated for each account.

The goal in my smurfing is to challenge the notion that it's "easy" to get the 4k badge or 20 kill badge by smurfing. I imagine that I am a dead average player and my initial investigation shows that it's significantly easier to get closer to my best ever stats on my main account while smurfing, but can I get the most prestigious of badges? I will be playing as balls to walls as possible to encounter enemies. 20 kills seemed far out of reach on KC and I knew both the maps and strategies involved. I don't know the knew map at all.

All with the fun and challenging Caveat: I will land where my team lands and double back to help them in any gunfight situations.

So here goes Smurf Logs 2.0:

I will give a brief synopsis of ever match as an edit to this message instead of posting a bunch of different ones! Let's see if Reddit is correct or if they're all just bitter at the high end players!

Dropped 2 of 3 of the first squad. Team mate got one. I pinged where I was going the whole time. Team didn't have mics. They got dropped and I promised to come back for them, but ended up killed by another Smurf. No, I'm not just salty. The player was named SmurfAdventures (or a shortened versions). An eye for an eye.

424 damage

Jumped with only one team mate. Went where he pinged, but he dropped about 200 meters away. Dropped 1 but my team mate got finished and spammed his banner ping. I asked him politely to stop while I was fighting an enemy. He kept going. I downed the enemy and quit the game. Seriously, that shit is annoying.

0 kills
312 damage

Team mate dropped late to a hot spot.

0 kills
0 damage

Loaded as a duo again. Followed the gunfights and ended up with a decent game. Somehow died outside of the ring to take second place. Seriously can't figure out how. I was perched near the ring and started to grapple into the ring as it it got close. Died anyway. Summary shows the ring killed even though I took no ring damage and wasn't taking any fire?

I'm ending my night here. Revived my team matea multiple times. Got to the final squad, got two enemies absolutely 1 shot and then got dropped. One team mate had been finished and the other was trailing into the fight. After he failed to even put a single bullet in either weak enemy and they ran away, I told him to come revive me. He said he "has it" and then gets double teamed to lose. 2nd place.

The frequent lack of urgency from teammates towards reviving/respawning is a common complaint of mine.

Pick me up so I can help you kill these bastids, dammit!

That said, I suspect I often take it too far the other way and automatically go for the revive and get killed when I could've finished the enemy off myself.
 
For what it's worth, I'm off work this week and am on Apex an awful lot for any of you PS4 players.

It just comes down to awareness, really. If the enemies are running off to heal, you should revive instead of chasing. Especially if it's multiple enemies.

Plus you can pretty quickly cancel the heal if an enemy pushes.

I even had a gold shield, so I had enough time to be revived and hit a Phoenix and get back in the fight. The enemies were bots (as can be expected while smurfing), so I was confident that I could beat them. But my team mate chased and just got rekt.
 
I didn't feel like documenting my matches today. The first kinda sucked. Both team mates left after getting dropped and I ended up with 1 kill and ~700 damage.

Second match just now though? I dropped in with only one team mate. My team mate died early and got finished off. I took out the squad and respawned her. However, the ring was coming in and she was trying to get looted again and we ended up separated and she got downed and finished again. I ran around the canyon trying to get to the box but there were two teams duking it out. I tried to third party but it wasn't working, so I bailed. Her beacon timed out.

She said "I wanna watch you win". So I got my mind right. Blue shield, Alternator, Longbow. Let's rock. I had 3 kills at that point and just started picking people off one-by-one. Dropped one dude, but couldn't quite take out his one team mate. I bailed to heal and found the same guy I dropped looting a box. I guess there was a fight but I headshot him for the kill with the Longbow.

I thought it was safe to head to the boxes. I KNEW he had a purple shield and I wanted the upgrade. I got close and then saw a Bloodhound running for me. I put some shots on him and bailed to high ground. I broke the shield with the long bow, and with only 5 squads (4 if you don't include me), I figured there was a good chance he'd be solo.

I chased but found he had a team mate. I one clipped the Bloodhound with the Alternator and got a shield-breaking headshot on the Mirage with the Longbow. I ran around the rock formation and healed, and then ran around the rock and caught the Mirage healing. One clip. I grabbed the gold shield and bailed.

3 squads left. I start running for the ring and hear loud footsteps. I peeked around a rock and saw a Pathfinder and mowed him down. He was solo.

2 squads left. I get into the small ring behind a rock formation. I spot two people in one of the sattelite tower things. The spot me too. Honestly the Lifeline was fucking me up with the G7 Double Tap. However, the team got to cocky. I had fast heal, so I hit a Pheonix and then heard them coming down the zipline. I peek out with the Longbow and hit the Lifeline on the zip. I swap to the Alternator and finish her off. I grappled over the rock formation and caught the Bangalore running for her team mate. Easy cap. Both are still knocked so I'm cautious for a sneaky third until I see the Gold knockdown. Finish the Lifeline.

1 squad left. Poor bastard let himself be known when he flew a drone right over my head. I shot it to avoid an EMP and then spotted him using an open supply drop for cover. He was good enough to avoid my Longbow shots. Only hit him once as he was strafing on me, and he shattered my shield with the charge rifle.

Guess he got cocky too, because he pushed me. I got a shield battery off and melted him with the Alternator.

Champion squad. My random team mate stayed the whole time but was silent. She flipped out when I won. Even more when she saw the summary: 11 kills, 2.9k damage.

Seriously, even if you hate smurfing, getting people a win who don't ever win is a really nice feeling.

As @Mohawk Mauler said about the Charge Rifle... You need it to win...

I was playing with 2 randoms last night and came upon a charge rifle early, left it, then decided "why not?" and went back for it. We all had mics and they were very happy to chat and callout. We had wiped a team that dropped with us at the epicenter and moved South, cresting the ridgeline.

We spotted 3 teams caught up in the mix, so I shouldered the CR and started sniping people from about 800M away! My teammates rushed in and I kept the other squads at bay, if they peeked, they got smoked!

Our bang popped their ULT as they focused on the team behind them, the squad that got flushed out got downed by my CR. There was no hiding from it.

I turned my attention to the other squad, kept them pinned and my teammates took them out!

2 squads left!...

We rotated to the small village by the cave and I spotted a lone lifeline on top of a building. They had gold armor and were loaded for BEAR! It was the BEST lifeline I've seen in this game yet!

I got knocked quickly!!!!

But...

I had a revive shield and a Peacekeeper! I self-revive, my teammates rush in, whittle down the lifeline and get knocked! Right at that moment, my revive kicks in! My teammates were yelling, he's at our boxes!

I put the Peacekeeper right against her dome and squeeze the trigger. Lucky for me, she did NOT grab their armor just yet!

One hit and she was dusted!

My teammate starts yelling YEAH!!!! We win THOSE!! That's how we do!!!!"

I finished with 6 kills and 1444 dmg. My son says "Dad, if you want the 2K badge, you've gotta go with the charge rifle." I was close...

It's within my grasp but I'll take it as it comes. :)

The Charge Rifle has surpassed the Longbow as the best damage-farming weapon in the game. If you see an enemy at literally any distance, you can do damage, often without them spotting you at all.

Good match! You're getting there!

Hells yeah buddah!

I think a fully kitted spifire along with a nice closer weapon like PeaceKeeper/Prowler will do you good,i did my 2k with Spitfire/PK but just remember you NEED to hit those downed shields man that helps so much.

And use your headsets bro! :D

I'm not 100% positive but I don't think damage to a downed opponent/shield counts towards final damage. Like, if you drop a guy with a purple shield, and break the shield to kill him, you're not going to have an extra 750 damage. If you could farm damage on downed opponents/knockdown shields, even 4k would be a pretty easy badge to get.

I'll have to test it. But like I said, it would be a free 100-750 damage. Maybe you're just doing more damage than you think!
 
Melee bug is straight fucking me today.

Noticing it may have nothing to do with the actual melee button, but when I’m actually trying to shoot. Game code thinks I don’t have a gun equipped or something.

Super frustrating.
