A more reasonable comparison would be a drunk driver hitting you while you run around on a freeway. No, the drunk driver shouldn't have been driving drunk. But you shouldn't have been playing on the freeway either. And guess what? There is only one of those things you can control - whether or not you play on the freeway. Because guess what? In this case, yes the driver was drink and fucked up too - but if you're playing on the freeway, you're just as liable to get hit by a stone cold sober driver. And in that case, you've got no one to blame but yourself.

If you actually care about stopping this from happening, not just throwing a tantrum about it, but actually want a solution, there is a really easy one. Make the overwhelming message from blm be to comply with police. Hell, blm should hold classes on how to interact with police, since so many people seem so profoundly confused about how to behave during a police interaction.
