Oblivian's Adaptations

^Outstanding, you really put me to shame on those. :D

Thanks man. I was really happy with the results. I've never been a high rep squat guy, so this was really tough. I was hoping to catch Blenderate and Brad Morris, but that didn't quite happen. It was a fun challenge, but I'm glad it's over!

nice work today. Did you watch Breaking Bad last night?

Thanks. Yes I did. It was a pretty solid episode. It had some good underlying character development. Skylar becoming involved to help Hank and her sister is exactly what she condemned Walt for. Jesse is definitely a confused kid. He tries to be the bad guy, but then he tries to be the good guy. It was a good episode IMO.

what was walt's boss (the black guy can think of his name atm) referring to when he said 'dont make the same mistake twice'? Was he referring to getting back with Skylar or..? jesse's one of my favorite charactors. He such a dumbass. Hes making a million and a half, but he insists on selling a little meth on the side so he can make 20 more grand. It was hilarious when he left the hospital and he started smoking and the guy said he needed to be further from the building and he says 'roll me further, bitch'

I thought he was referring to Jesse. He dropped Jesse once and now he's back with him. The interaction with the boss was definitely puzzling, but I think it was meant to be that way.

oh. I didnt think of that.

^I got the idea from this.

I think it would be cool to do a conditioning challenge sometime with fixed, heavy weights that were not scaled to bodyweight. Reason being, life is typically not scaled to our abilities :)

It doesn't have to be as tough as "King Kong," but I think there is something to be said for a really heavy conditioning challenge that required a good deal of strength as a starting point. Would be a good bridge between S&P and conditioning, I think.

Just an idea. I think it would be cool :)

i would rather do something with a higher percentage of BW. maybe 3/4 or 4/5. If it was the same weight for everyone, the heavier lifters would win easily and none of the conditioning regulars would care enough to do the challenge

I would definitely be down for something like that. We'll have to develop it though. The main issue with a lot of these challenges is equipment. For someone that doesn't have two bars, it's tough to do a challenge with two lifts at separate weights. I'm always open to anyone's idea for a new challenge and I'll throw it in the poll.

i would like to do some type of BW exercise circuit with clapping pushups, chinups, pullups, dips, bw squats etc. But those types of things never seem to get many votes.

The tabata challenge is pretty much all BW. I actually voted for that.

yeah, me, you and two others lol. I was hoping for something like that. Its nice to have the conditioning challenge be related to S+P, but it has ended up making the challenges alot more strength related. Not that its a bad thing. I'm just pissed cuz i suck at hang cleans.

That would completely defeat the purpose of this style of challenge. Scaling the challenges to BW punishes strength to a degree, because strength is strongly correlated with size.

The whole idea of this sort of challenge is: life is not scaled. This kind of challenge demands a big down payment of strength, and then you have to have the conditioning to sustain that intensity.

This kind of challenge would necessarily be more exclusive than a scaled challenge. However, I bet it would also attract people that would not normally do the conditioning challenges which tend to favor smaller guys (remember, 75% of BW for a 150lb guy is easier than 75% of BW for a 200lb guy...this is the kind of reality formulas like Wilks try to capture).

Yeah, I'm not saying we should do the challenge I posted in the video, that was just to illustrate my point. I don't like the idea of requiring gear other than the most basic stuff. I think it would be best if it could be done with a single barbell, maybe a chin/pull up bar, too.

We've had tons of BW-oriented conditioning challenges. ???

I see where you are coming from. But i dont like the idea. Most others probably would though. Depends on what the exercise is.

So you're doing PP 2x a week, once with singles the other working to a 10 rep set? And you should use straps for the hang clean challenge.

Nice work in here btw :D
