Taller than most of the division (bigger), does one thing really good (that right hand of his), has subpar grappling, is an over the top personality that appeals to the douche bag crowd.

I think he has more heart than conor though (he actually comes from poor beginnings from what I know as opposed to manufactured "poorness" on conor's part) so he'll be back.

Aljo is a very good fighter who was forced into a short turnaround with injuries against O'Malley after defending three times in a year.

O'Malley is a legit contender, but his title reign was manufactured through favoritism.

O'Malley is a contender in the division. At least we saw what his TDD is like. He doesn't have any wall wrestling or he was actively avoiding the cage. His BJJ is serviceable. He is able to avoid damage for the most part. This is the top ten rankings before last night's results. I think they are all competitive with each other. I think guys like Aldo and Cejudo are on their way out.

This fight was basically like the Yan fight, except that the judges got it right. I will say that O'Malley did tag Yan a few times and got the better of a lot of the exchanges on the feet. Whereas he basically did nothing against Merab.

Blah blah blah. O'malley was champ because he was good and skilled. He lost because he ran into someone better. Its really that simple, no need to nitcpick a whole host of his opponents just because you don't particularly like omalley.

He’s a very good fighter that showcases how important timing and promotional support is.

He got a lot of easy matchups like Mouthnho and washed Winelamd/Almeida to build a highlight reel and learn how to wrestle/grapple better and build his durability.

That’s normal for a lot of fighters a promotion wants to build so can’t hate on him for that.

But yeah robbery vs Yan (multiple glove grabs no warnings, Herb stopped the fight to give Suga a breather for one against Merab lol). Then Aljo forced to fight 10 weeks after a 5 round title fight on enemy turf as the champ, shit the bed without even shooting once and trying to box. I don’t think Vera is a gimme fight but in hindsight small Octagon played a huge factor in the first fight (Vera has shit footwork and can’t find range in a bigger Octogon against guys that move).

He is who he is - a very dangerous striker that doesn’t have great endurance in high-paced/grappling heavy fights and is weak in the clinch/only has average TDD.

He’s another Conor basically (not that good though) - an elite action fighter they put their finger on the scale to help. That’s still pretty damn good though.

He was gifted a decision vs Yann

He was gifted an absurdly early stoppage against Sterling, basically handed a UFC belt by Goddard for scoring a knockdown

Then he had a convenient defense again Vera who wasn’t truly the #1 contender, and Vera completely failed to show up in that fight, basically only starting to fight in the last minute of the fifth round.

Against Merab he had no answers to the takedowns

He's decent skill wise but physically he's pretty pathetic, has a skinny camel arse despite being only about 5'9 and a half tall.

Dog face, creepy wife sharing behaviour and stutter bum speaking on the mic. No one gives a shit about the dude apart from a few hundred basement dwellers that think his pink hair is cool.

Sean O'Malley was never my friend. IMO nobody benefited more from Conor's self-destruction than he. Dana latched onto his Irish surname and decided to give him a pro-wrestling style push based solely on that. O'Malley himself decided to become a lame-ass Conor wannabe with a fraction of the charisma, to the point where even most of the sheep saw through it. He's essentially your average millennial simp who just happened to become a UFC fighter.
