O’Malley was never that good..

On the feet he is world class went toe to toe with Yan. On the mat he is like a fish out of water. The fact is guys like Conor and Sean would never even get a sniff at the belt if it wasnt for the promotion

He's a excellent striker with serviceable grappling. Anyone trying to play his game at 135 is gonna have a hard time handling him.

Still, Sean was always going to have problems with a hard nosed relentless grappler like Merab. So did Aldo and Yan.

After losing is such a dominating performance it is definitely official and proven that he was never that good and probably should retire.

He was as good as most knew he was, Aljamain fight tricked me into believing he could win, but i knew that Merab was going to be his "kryptonite", we got Vera fight in between, but once he fights a wrestlefucker like Merab he was done, and it happened.

If you're not the champion you suck, according to you useless fat turds.

He didn't really get beat up after 5 rnds. Winner looked in worse shape.

This fight was what I expected McGregor/Mendes to look like. It could have gone differently I suppose.

Nah he’s good. An elite striker but like many people surmised has a wrestling deficiency. His rise was somewhat manufactured in that he was carefully guided into contention but he’s no doubt talented.

This guy finally got a taste of the good life of being rich as a fighter and that can ruin a guy. We've seen it happen many times before.

Every time a champion loses, it's the same thing on Sherdog. "he was never that good", "needs to retire", etc. 🥴

O'Malley is great. So is Yan. Both are historically good Bantamweights who could be champs in any era.

Merab is just even better, which is insane. I don't even like him but gotta give props. We've never really seen anyone like him. He's a bit similar to Colby and Usman but he cranks the pressure and high volume takedowns up to 11. He would beat Sterling as well who is a 3 round fighter.

Then we have Umar looking like a menace. BW is just ridiculously good and has been for the last 4 years.

Before the fight some were calling him the best striker in the ufc, BW goat. My ears get polluted just hearing it.
Don’t forget
“He’s a star!”
I forgot to say, “He’s a star”
Did I mention, “He’s a star”?

I guess they forgot that real star power doesn’t need to remind you that they are one.

O'malley is talented but flawed.

My question is why hasn't merab worked on his submission game? It would make him the total package.

Gifted a #1 contender fight vs Yan after beating Raulian Paiva (lmao) and eye poking Munhoz to a NC.

Gifted a robbery decision vs Yan

Sterling shits the bed after barely attempting any TDs

Then cherry-picks undeserving Vera who just got outclassed by sandhagen then barely beat Munhoz. Goes 5 rounds and gets hurt with body shot in final minute.

What’s next, feeding old man Aldo to Sean?
O'Malley showed last night that his wrestling has a loooong ways to go. And don't forget, he was never a big star like the UFC was making him out to be.
