Elections NYC mayoral race

i'll use your own metaphor here....you don't let a mentally handicapped child run a company. mamdani should be given as little control as possible and that's a good thing.

and still no comment on this?

Nobody who voted for Trump should be complaining about what anyone knows about running a business. Also, NW survived incompetent imbeciles like Giuliani and Adams, so Mamdani will be fine.

Quote doesn't bother me because I'm not an idiot. I live in Canada, we have a lot of socialist policies, and it's a much better place to live than America.

Trump as President worries me more than this moron running NYC.... But this guy is still going to be a disaster.

Why?

Do you think he'll do worse than Giuliani or Adams?

Most people don't know how bad Giuliani was.

oh, now i know what i'm up against lmao. how are those socialist policies working out?

since trudeau:

doubled rent/mortgages
housing crisis
massive inflation
record food bank visits
homelessness/tent cities
25% living in borderline poverty
almost zero gdp per capita growth over 10 years
capital flight

Where are you getting these nonsense numbers?

Guiliani was a great mayor. After being mayor is when we turned into a lunatic.

Crime down 62%
Violent crime down 51%
Murders down 66%
Inherited a budget deficit and left with a 2.9 billion surplus
29% GDP growth(vs 20% nationally)
Unemployment fell from 8.8% to 5.7%
Cleaned up the city

Dude was a great mayor. You know, before he lost his mind.

Yeah, this is the radical left's reaction to Trump. Go be every bit as wacky in every way in the opposite direction.

Raising taxes is something that state government does, not the mayor. He's making commitments he can't possibly keep for all of the free goodies he is promising. And the things he can do- like rent controls, are going to be harmful in the long run.

I'm not going to get into socialism vs capitalism debate because it is stupid and there is absolutely no debate- only people in denial and wishful thinking.

Giuliani dropped the crime rates, especially violent crime significantly.
You could actually ride the subways without having to worry too much back in the 90’s. Before he cleaned them up, they were just as bad if not worse than they are now.

He will be the biggest gift to Republicans imaginable.

I don’t think so. He already has the ammo he needs to appeal to the poor and disenfranchised youth that can’t afford rent, let alone a house and family. He can already say that the establishment did everything they could to try and stop him and he still won the election…. Now they will do anything to sabotage his mayoral term, next step is to elect him not only as NY governor, but as president.

He will be young Bernie sanders, and unlike Bernie’s runs, he will have the backing of the democrat machine just like AOC and Bernie ie do right now.

The messaging will have big appeal to the 18-35 year olds, regardless of what happens in NYC.

I live in BC, it's pretty accurate even though you wish it wasn't.

I've been following these trends of a very long time, it isn't accurate at all, which is why I asked where he got them specifically. There is variance from source to source, but his numbers are completely out there.

Also, the fact one of his charts explicitly points out when liberals took office suggests it's a partisan, unreliable source.
