He's talking about national elections. NYC may be stupid enough to elect him, but his brand of politics are niche on the national level and will only become more niche, when he turns into Brandon Johnson 2.0. Socialists have no plans to pay for anything they propose, except to tax the fuck out of people. That is ultimately their platform, and it fails every single time, because rich people can just move, and that leaves the rest to eat it. The very people they promise unicorns and rainbows to, end up paying for it.

But hey, I really do hope he gets elected. It would be such a spectacular disaster, and would only hurt Democrats.

I know I sound like a broken record here but how can anyone in good faith fearmonger about Mamdani while simultaneously support the "big, beautiful bill" which would give billionaires a trillion dollar tax break, destroy clean energy, kill an additional 50,000 Americans annually by throwing millions of people off health insurance, destroy rural hospitals, allow the sale of federal land, and there's like a hundred more things that are abysmal.

Even in MAGA's nightmare scenario of Zohran being a terrorist a 9/11 scale attack on NYC once a month would still probably have less long-term damage than that disaster of a bill passing.

He did get a degree in African Studies from some unknown college in Maine (Bowdoin College)... so there's that.

He's a straight up Communist and has proposed seizing apartments to create city run projects. He wants no private housing property in the city.
