I checked it before. The statement is real. He shouldn’t have worded it that way. If you look at the document it showed how luxury condos and coops don’t pay as much taxes. It was somewhat unfair and unconstitutional. People living in poor areas pay more taxes than those in rich areas

Out of all the progressive programs that he is pushing. He actually has some experience in housing and what plagues low income home owners. I understand he is trying to right some wrongs but he has too much on his agenda.

I'm loving watching reactionaries scramble to get their talking points in order over this. They always seem to contradict each other. He's a radical islamist who's going to implement sharia law, but he's also going to trans all the kids. He only won because of mass immigration to NYC, but also only white people voted for him. He's literally going to turn NYC into Mad Max, but he's also not going to be able to implement any of his plans. Seriously, it's embarrassing. Find one angle of cope to go with and stick with it.

Well, here's to hoping he focuses on the highest priority and most practicable items.

The document shows he understands the hustle behind gentrification and sleezy real estate practices. He ran his campaign off social media like Tiktok. Most young people don't own homes/apartments and suffer from the lack of affordable housing. Other stuff like affordable groceries is a big issue that isn't addressed by local politicians.

I mean, as far as his faith goes, he seems like a pretty bog standard secularized Muslim. For anyone who's ever lived in a city with a population above 100k, he's completely normal (and honestly kind of boring) in that respect. For hicks who have never left their small town, he's literally going to somehow bomb the WTC again and declare sharia law.

Other than the obvious symbolic markers, this Zohan or whatever is a clear example of why the “democratic socialists” will always fail more broadly.

The fact that their idea of equality is founded on racial hierarchy, basically the animal farm “some animals are more equal than others” will always fracture the working class they hope to consolidate. They’re only for the people they view in their racial coalition. But don’t get it twisted, the hierarchy exists within that coalition as well. The rest are disposable “allies”, regardless of class.

They seem to campaign on what actual marxists once viewed as the end game of totalitarian Stalinism.

Their entire ideology is fueled on the idea and rhetoric of “equity” which isn’t based on material evidence and certain others are believed to have an imaginary cloak of privilege. So people are taken care of and others are torn to shreds based on race. Statistics on economic and crime are used to draw the wrong conclusions. Like they are a causation rather than a consequence.

I don’t consider myself to be hyper capitalist. Purists would say to reject global free market is to reject capitalism and I’m okay with that.

I do believe in private property and making money regardless of if they next person is making any money(nationally), but I don’t believe in putting your own workers and consumers into competition with the rest of the world and I’m not opposed to a large safety net and taxing the uber wealthy even more. I’m not exactly a small government guy.

I’d probably be more inclined to some socialism if the people front and center with socialism in the United States weren’t so fervently committed to the dangerous and racist lie of “equity” over equality.

I almost want him to win because NYC isn’t a canary in the coal mine nationally for anything anyway

but also because he can’t do anything he claims to want to do..except be lawless like several other big city Democrat mayors.

He would probably try to go toe to toe with Trump and get humiliated like Bass and Newsom because he can’t stop ICE and any real effort to do so will only create chaos and prove everybody right on what the leadership of people like this invariably leads to.

But I’d also just as wellhave Adams stay in the role and properly facilitate immigration policy.

Or maybe he just won because he's the only guy who isn't sucking Israel off. People are getting tired of that country and us bending the knee to them. Even Asmongold was like " he's got my vote" after hearing how he'd prefer to stay in NYC than visit Israel.

He's also got a lot of charisma and in interviews he comes across as extremely likeable and easy to work with. I don't think people are going to the polls and thinking "FUCK YEAH SOCIALIST REVOLUTION BABY". It's more like.... "hey this guy is pretty cool and offers some fresh ideas, let's give him a chance".

I don't know, people are freaking out over this I guess is my point when in reality he won because he just answered all the questions well and other candidates flubbed.
