Nu'Keese vs. A Lawyer

My gym closed for the week so I have to lift at the weight room in my complex, this will force me to have to take it back a notch.

Push Press: Felt weak.

235x3 for 3 sets

Squat:

345x3 for 3 sets

Row:

235x5 for 5 sets

Nice work in here. I'm patiently waiting for a Squat PR....

Me too, unfortunately I forgot my gym closed this week so I am stuck at my condo's fitness center. I am just going to go through the motions this week, might be a good thing since I have not gotten 8 hours of sleep in over a week and am really starting to feel the effects of that.

After taking a week off with the infection I actually felt really good and set a PR on front squat, which I think is my weakest main lift. Pretty happy about that.

Bench Press: Felt good.

135x5
185x3
205x2
256x3 for 6 sets

Front Squat: Knee sleeves. Trunk felt strong.

135x6
185x3
225x2
275x2
295x2
315x2 (2 rep PR)

Back Squat: Knee Sleeves

315x2
345x2 for 6 sets

Chin Up: Felt strong.

12,10,8

Power Clean: Knee sleeves. 255 probably looked like shit.

135x5
185x3

Back Squat: Knee sleeves, felt easy the whole way.

135x5 FS
185x5 FS
225x3 FS
275x2 FS
315x2

Bench Press: Mixed in paused reps and close grip on 4 of the 6 sets.

135x5
185x2
225x2
256x2 for 6 sets

Clean: Trying to work on getting under the bar better.

185x3 for 5 sets

Row:

185x5 for 3 sets

Bench Press: Last two sets were tough. Close grip for sets 2 and 4.

135x5
185x3
205x2
256x4 for 6 sets

Front Squat: The good news is I set a PR, with no knee sleeves or belt. Bad news is that when my buddy went to record it, the phone was on picture mode and he did not capture it. Still pretty happy.

135x3
225x3
275x2
325x1 PR

Back Squat: No sleeves, knees hurt. Had a strange rep on the 5th set, got stuck in a half squat for about a 2 count, very odd.

345x2 for 6 sets

Power Clean and Jerk: Did about 85% of my max for 4 singles, tried to move fast and catch the weight in a true power position and get under it for the power jerk portion, felt good.

185x2
225x1 for for sets

Decline Bench Press: I will be adding this in on Mondays, I feel like my joints need to get under some heavy weight, it has worked for me in the past so I am going to go with it for now. Wristbands.

225x3
275x2
295x2 for 3 sets

Chin Up: Easy.

Sets of 14, 12, and 10

About 30 reps a hand with 2.0 CoC, and some warm up and finishing with the 200 HG.

Back Squat: Took a slightly wider stance than normal. Knee sleeves.

235x5
205x5
185x5

Grip work with CoC 2.0 and HG 200

That's some serious volume for a day. Nice job.

I tried to get some extra work in since I only lifted two days this week, and completely skipped any deads.

Have not been able to lift since Friday, I was definitely out of my riddum due to that.
The interesting thing is by the time I got halfway across the weight room I hear, "yo you fight? das a crazy sport yo?" I was caught of guard without headphones in, I should have learned from that thread "no friends at the gym" yesterday.

Bench Press: No spotter, no washers so I had to improvise. I probably could have hit the last rep with a spotters presence, but didn't want to chance it. Wrist bands.

135x5
225x3
245x2
270x5 for 4 sets
265x4

135x2 FS
225x2 FS
275x1 FS
345x2 for 2 sets

Lat Pulldown: Didn't have the energy or interest to do chins.

160x8 for 3 sets

Did some sets of 10+ with the 200 HG

Back Squat: I think I could have went for 430 and got it, but I will be patient. Knee sleeves. The 5 sets of 365 for 3 was easy, played around with the width of my stance on each set.

225x3
315x2
365x1
410x1
365x3 for 5 sets

Nice work in here. What'd you think of UFC 119? Prelims were really good IMO.

The prelims were great. Dalloway looked really good, I liked his paitience on the guillotine. Hunt was a let down, but that wasn't a shock. How did the Lopez fight go, I was sure that guy would take it, the fight was not televised. Did it actually look like Sherk won the fight from an in person perspective? I rewatched the fight and could not figure out one way to give him the win in that fight.

No, I had Dunham. My wife also agreed. The two people next to me agreed, but someone behind me had Sherk. I picked Lowe over Lopez. Lowe took him down at will. I actually had Lowe as winning 30-27. Lowe cut Lopez pretty bad.

I knew Hunt would lose. I had a single bet on McCorkle and I even threw him in parlays. He always takes the fight to the ground and he didn't have any nerves. Hunt just can't hang on the ground.

I thought Dunham won too, Peoples needs to be released, fired or whatever they do to the judges, he has made some serious judging errors on every event he was involved in especially this one.

Bench Press: Wristbands, felt pretty good. I got lazy with the micro loading and did 305 instead of 304, and 275 instead of 272. I think this will make next weeks seem easier, since I am going for 99% of my previous max.

135x6
185x3
225x3
275x1
295x1
305x1
275x3 for 5 sets

Power Clean: Wristbands and knee sleeves. On the lighter 3's I did full cleans, I want to get those back up, and I have had a lot of technical problems with them in the past.

Nice work. You ready for WEC tonight? Epic card.

I am psyched, the undercard alone would make me tune in, stacked top to bottom. I hope Torres and Brown can get back on track, I am a big fan of those two. Watching the weigh-ins now, I missed them lastnight.
