Gane's TDD looked improved in the Spivak fight, but to be fair, Spivak tried to take him down after Gane already pieced him up on the feet. Add to that the fact that Spivak, while a capable grappler, is not a takedown artist per se.
For all of his improvements in grappling, Gane does have other areas of concern. He's not defensively responsible on the feet, relying on speed to get in and out instead of head movement - when he starts to slow down, he will get countered / caught.
He also lacks composure when he has his opponent hurt (or thinks he does) - he abandons all technique amd strategy and rushes in, swinging wildly, hitting to the back of the head, overthrowing, etc. A composed opponent (especially one who can play possum / rope-a-dope) will catch him coming in AND/OR Gane will finally get himself disqualified by a ref for hitting to the back of the head.
