OSLO, March 2 (Reuters) - NATO member Norway will continue to supply fuel for U.S. Navy ships, the country's defence minister said on Sunday, after a call from a private marine fuel supplier to stop doing so in response to the apparent breakdown in U.S.-Ukrainian relations.
"We have seen reports raising concerns about support for U.S. Navy vessels in Norway. This is not in line with the Norwegian government's policy," Norway's Defence Minister Tore Sandvik said in a statement.

"American forces will continue to receive the supply and support they require from Norway," he added.
Sandvik issued his statement after privately held Norwegian fuel supplier Haltbakk Bunkers said that it would stop supplying U.S. Navy ships in response to how Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy was treated at the White House on Friday.
"Huge credit to the president of Ukraine restraining himself and for keeping calm even though USA put on a backstabbing TV show. It made us sick... No Fuel to Americans!," the company said in a now deleted Facebook post.

Haltbakk Bunkers CEO Gunnar Gran confirmed to Norwegian newspaper VG that the company made a decision not to supply the U.S. military, but said the move would have a "symbolic" impact as it didn't have a fixed contract.
The company did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for comment.

Interesting...

I am not sure if Haltbakk are bound by the Defence Minister's decision, but it's a small sign of how unpopular this US administration is making itself in Europe.

So the company declared that they were not going to do something that they weren't even contracted to do in the first place. Very brave.

Why doesn't Norway give $ 350 billion of their own money to Ukraine if they want to help so much?
Norway’s national budget includes the following:
  • Increasing development assistance to Palestine by NOK 280 million (US$26 million)
  • Increasing humanitarian assistance by NOK 300 million (US$27 million)
  • Increasing climate adaptation and food security funding by NOK 380 million (US$35 million)
None of which Trump is interested in financially supporting. Norway has also committed to increasing financial aid to Ukraine.

https://www.reuters.com/world/europ...pport-ukraine-prime-minister-says-2025-03-01/

“Norway's parliament late last year agreed to spend a total of 35 billion Norwegian crowns ($3.12 billion) on military and civilian support for Ukraine in 2025 and a total of 155 billion crowns in the years from 2023 to 2030.”

They aren’t demanding minerals or thank yous on live television either.

Felt cute, might backtrack like a little bitch later when the US calls

Trump with all the “allies” acting like they’re running things now

It's just Europe and the United States growing further apart.

The next time the Democrats win, whenever that is, the US will have to undo all this damage. I mean, people can pretend otherwise, but I think there's an extremely good chance the US will be desperately seeking to rebuild those bridges under a Dem leader.

I knew some troglodyte on here would fall for this.
And look who came crawling back to the WR on a new account.

The first paragraph clarifies this was a "private marine fuel supplier" protesting independently.

The second line: "This is not in line with the Norwegian government's policy, Norway's Defence Minister Tore Sandvik said in a statement."

You're riled up enough to put allies in air quotes?
