I've always wondered this - how do non-Yanks like Captain America? He's one of the bigger comic book characters and is a big movie icon now but, essentially, he's a bunch of American flag waving and self-indulgence about our collective moral code made into a superhero. So, on top of being a walking argument for performance enhancing drugs, he's an "American Icon" - does this turn off you Europeans, Asians, Africans, etc? And for Americans - do you like him more because he's basically a big American flag?

Why does he have miniature wings on his head?

He's okay. He's nowhere as obnoxious as extremely patriotic Americans sometimes can be. I like the whole leadership aspect to him.

He's my favorite marvel hero and #2 behind GL all times, I am Canadian

Always found him boring.

He is cool when his story is told in WW2 context and time because we had that kind of hokey propaganda. But when you try to make his character fit a modern context, he looks like a tea party yokel.

He's alright for a gay guy.

For some reason I am a Yank, but I like Captain Britain better. He is stronger, has a much hotter sister, and can fly.

They trying to make a series on this bloke

I just wish he had more gadgets, like maybe just one. What is an iconic british tool, or weapon? I dont even think he has laser vision. Since he british why not give him like some toxic breath or something seeing as how Brits have a rep of bad oral hygiene.

I like that he is the embodiment of vengeance and vigilantism and never breaks his code of killing. I like the fact that he uses his parents murder as an all consuming drive to punish the wicked. I also like the fact that he uses his wealth to not only create the gadgets to fight crime but also as a cover, using it to show a playboy lifestyle.

I think you're confusing Captain America with Galactus.

Of all places to call me a troll, you chose this thread? You could have done so much better.

He's honestly a better character in the comics than you would think. He's gone rogue several times throughout the years because he disagreed with something the government was doing, or found out they were lying to him. That's why there have been several Captain America's.

For example when he found out they created Nuke, basically a realistic version of what Captain America would be like, Roided to hell and scarred by ptsd, he went on a rampage uncovering secret government files and hiding out from government agents. Or during Civil war when they wanted force every superhero to reveal their identity or be imprisoned, he became the leader of the superhero resistance.

Cap is a pretty solid dude and an excellent leader. He's like Batman without the psychosis and mommy/daddy issues.

I dig Cap on a lot of levels (Yank here.)

Captain America is the lofty and, yet, vague ideal for our nation and our people. He is patriotic without being nationalistic. He is traditional and yet progressive. He is liberal and yet sensible. He values life but is willing to be a soldier and carries a shield as a weapon to demonstrate how defense doesn't always have to be passive. He is beyond the capabilities of any man but is within humanity's (theoretical) limits. He is a kid from Brooklyn who commands beings with the powers of gods. Soldier. Spy. Stoic. Saint.

Seriously, how do you not love this guy?

i'd trade Captain Canuck for him, if that helps your query

I'm a Chris Evans fan, so I like that he plays Cap'n America.

Also, why does he look Chinese in that pic??
