Nog vs Sergei 18 years ago

Kharitonov is one of the old guard heavyweights that I do not think ever made his potential - Aleks is another. He was a "new breed" heavyweight, far ahead of his time, and tho he reached very high levels in MMA I still feel he could have gone further if he remained fully dedicated to it. He was 6'4, nearly 260, elite boxing, great kick boxer, strong ground game and athletic yet very technical.

I think alot of us thought that guys like him and other Russians would be the future of heavyweight, but it ended up being American wrestlers and now French/Afro hw's are dominating....who would have ever thought? One has to wonder where the dominant hw's will come from in 30 years from now.

Yeah the heavyweight division is not better than it was if at all, but the heavies nowadays don't have roids either

"Fake wrestler" who won an NCAA title.

WTF's wrong with you? You sound like a petulant child. Barnett beat Nog too.

Facts>your feeings
Truth be told, at around 230 pounds with those weak TDs, Big Nog would have a bunch of snoozer stand-up fights that went to decisions against modern UFC HWs. I expect he'd lose some of them, and not just to Gane and Ngannou. I know Pride fanatics don't want to hear that, but it is what it is.

Sergei at his best was like Prides version of Stipe. Very similar frame a punching style.

Makes arbitrary claim about Nog struggling with "modern HWs"

Doesn't list these "modern HWs"

News flash: Derrick Lewis is a top 3 title contender.

Nog would beat the shit out of him.

Nice to you representing the 60-70 IQ range with style and flair.

Mirko's TDD is WAY overrated because he sprawled on some TDs from a 40+ year old Mark Coleman that were telegraphed from 10-feet away. Seriously. JDS stuffing Carwin's TDs was more impressive than that, but you can't argue with Pride nostalgists....it's a religion and criticizing any of their idols is forbidden.

40 year old Mark Coleman would have plowed through Derrick Lewis ' bummy sprawl which 90 year old Oleinik got through with no problem.

Stlvia. Mir was still way better tho. In case you forgot, he nearly died in a motorcycle accident. ummediately after winning the belt.
Who won all 3 fights against Nog and Sylvia?
3-0...3 brutal finishes...Nog made it to the 2nd round once tho
Facts>your feelings

Change your SN to "PeteMyersFan" lol
Facts > your feelings
Mir career record: 19 mere wins and 12 defeats.

Timmeh 30 plus wins a mere 10 defeats record title wins and defences.

What’s next Rocco Rodriguez > Timmeh?

Timmeh with his championship pedigree was the best hw of all time ufc had produced (until Stipe knocked off enough geriatrics). UFC shills being so insecure about their GOAT is worrisome.

Excellent comparison. Just trade the wrestling for sambo. That is why it's a bit frustrating, as Stipe became champ and I know Serg could have too if he remained dedicated and solely focused like Stipe did.

Winning an ncaa has what to do with being good at MMA? This fake wrestler also beat UFCs two divisions champ and until then GOAT candidate Randy couture. Also fake wrestler barnet that you mentioned even as a noob to the game, won the ufc title and actually finished the same Randy worse than Brock did. Do you even watch mma?

Love how my “facts>your feelings” comment triggered you so bad. LOL

It's a good fight, but TBH the stand up looks pretty slow, not a whole lot of switching stances or faints or leg kicks like you see today.
Lol at switching stances being some great technic…..most times it’s a sign your actual stance isn’t working

Yeah, I'm not going through a Top 10 list or anything, but Volkov is another example. Big Nog didn't have much KO power and wasn't an amazing striker as some remember him. With his height/reach, I can see Volkov doing well on the feet and avoiding any submissions if it went to the ground (as he did with Werdum).
